You mean that whatever the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Turkey does, it should suffer no consequences? |

I find the Greek Cypriot arguements above disingenius. So much hypocrisy and wilful denial of truth!
Fact: Turkish Cypriots endured embargoes since Dec 1963. It is evidenced in UN reports and international media coverage. It changed from ethnic embargoes to territorial post events of 1974. It is false for people to present otherwise
Fact: going through Limassol does add cost to trade for Turkish Cypriots, when Magusa is nearer and they can use their own vehicles (did you know that Turkish Cypriot commercial vehicles like taxis, buses, and lorries cannot cross into South using existing permits, when North permits same for Greek Cypriot vehicles?). It is as big economic disincentive to Turkish Cypriot businesses, as important as the political arguements for not using Limassol (surely Greek Cypriots must realise if Turkish Cypriots were going to capitulate and accept minority status, would have happened by now. It did not & will not! So let's move on!). Check out info from Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce on Green Line initiative results...
Also, if Greek Cypriots have right to reject Annan Plan, why can't Turkish Cypriots have right to determine own future? Why does one have to be isolated and the other accept (demand!) respect for their decision? Like I said above, smacks of pure hypocrisy! |

Everyone reaps what they sow. If Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus or Turkey or anyone breaks the rules, there are always consequences. For some, it takes longer to catch up, but it always does! |

Because voting in a referendum is exercising a democratic right, while the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was based on breaking the Geneva Convention... |
