:D :D @cypez and Leyla

Cyprus didn't make it through - I am surprised as there were far, far worse songs, not to mention the ones that qualified for the final. Bulgaria for example..the music was good but the vocals? It was awful..

I watched it. Well, sort of.
As I said earlier Evridiki did much better in 1992.
The only ones I liked was Hungary, Bulgaria and Malta. The latter having quite good songs in many years but obviously they never seem to make it through to the final :-(

Surprisingly the pure and straightforward Hungarian entry made it to the final! Bravo!

:D :D :D @ Cypez for the translation!

City, I liked the Maltese entry too and felt sorry for the woman as they said she has been trying to represent her country for over 20 years in EuroV and this was her first time - at least she could sing! I do like the Serbian entry (the woman singing in a suit with specs) and the German entry - I do like a bit of cool cat jazz every now and again :)

Hopefully my ears will be recovered enough to try and watch the final although methinks a strong bottle of something nice will be required to drown out some (if not most) of the evening ;)

Quote: not a bad song though and Sarbel's isn't bad either - well if you can spot the difference between the two songs

After watching both songs a few times, I'm still trying to spot the difference Leyla...I start singing the beginning of the Turkish song and I finish up singing the end of the Greek song..

Anyway, well done to both Greece and Turkey (it was a shame Cyprus didn't get in, I mean there were worse songs, Bulgaria anyone? Don't get me wrong the drums were fantastic, vocals however, not so good me thinks... ) they both did good to get in the top ten... And Kenan Doglu's Jacket? LOVED it! He's a stylish lad that's for sure...

Quote: I predict a few points for the UK as the Maltese usually throw in a few "sympathy" points :lol

The Maltese must have felt very, very sorry for the British song..either that or they have pretty bad taste...12 points?!?

Same 'problem' here :?
But I don't really like either of the songs. Sorry.

Hungary and Bulgaria ;-) were the best imho.
Georgia not a bad voice, but did she try to imitate Björk?
Also the guy from Armenia had a good voice.

What was UK? Very embarrassing. They deserved to be last.
And they got 12 points from Ireland whom in reverse they did not give one single point. But then again, the Irish Lady was sort of weird me thinks...

:?:  :?:

In general I think its good that with the Serbian entry a decent piece of music won and not such nonsense as the one from Ukraine...

Damn! I wish I placed a bet on Serbia winning! Cyp Rules, I am with you on the Bulgarian entry... haunting vocals is one thing but her voice was disturbing! And what on earth did that man with her have in his mouth? Looked like the poor guy had been to the orthodontist that morning...

City, I also liked the Hungarian entry..too good for the Eurovision though, same with the German entry, I really liked that as it was well sung, the singer was not bad either ;)

Yikes, I know the Maltese have a very big place in their hearts for England, but 12 pts of sympathy? To be fair there were far worse songs than the English entry...Ukraine being a "shining" example. As for Ireland....the poor woman looked like a bunny rabbit in front of an oncoming truck on a motorway..

Now to Sarbel and Kenan....I didn't expect Kenan to do that well so well done to him and to Sarbel - though I still would prefer a more traditional entry next year sung in Turkish (as opposed to shake it up sekerim.....you're my sweet TING")

Terry Wogan (English commentator) was also in top form last night and said whenever he entered the hotel foyer it was always jammed packed with members of Sarbel's family...lol...My Big Fat Eurovision Debut!

Cyprus didn't qualify for the final this year so Bulgaria had the honour of Greece's douze points. Zero points from Greece to Turkey but Turkey awarded Greece with 4 points and bestowed their douze points upon the shoulders of the white shirted Armenian singer..whose heart was literally bleeding all over his shirt by the time he finished singing his ballard (presumably about a woman who broke his heart? ;) Was a good song at least..

Of course...of course...I can see your point! It should not matter that Cyprus did not qualify! How dare Greece break decades of tradition by throwing their 12 points away like wedding confetti to any other county on this planet (or a neighbouring planet)...let alone awarding them to Bulgaria! Their douze points should have gone to Cyprus IRRESPECTIVE of whether they were there on the night or not!

I am surprised your great leader has not demanded a 40 page document from the Greek panel of Judges to explain this betrayal! Heads must roll!

Koullias said yesterday that the reason Cyprus did not qualify is because we said no to the cursed Annan Plan......

      And the word "paranoia" springs to my mind once more... I was also shocked that La France awarded La Turquie douze points as well    Part of the conspiracy of course!
