Hello there
Next year in spring we will visit Cyprus. We want to travel by bike and camp. How are the possibilities of camping troughout south and north Cyprus? I read there are very few campsites. Is is possible to camp in the wild, somewhere in the woods for instance? Can you just go to a farmer and ask to put up a tent on his property? Are there smaller campsites which ar not to be found on the internet?
thnx

There are just 6 campsites in Cyprus...one in Polis Chrysochou (Paphos), in coral bay (paphos), In paphos close to the airport, In limassol somewhere (I haven't been), In Larnaka (pervolia). In troodos mountain there is one in Stavros tis Psokas. Camping is cheap 3 pounds per night and they have dodge showers, toilets and often a restaurant/ bar.
Me and my friends did something similar in the summer of 2005 and we were camping whereever the night came, mainly on beaches, but somewhere remoted. Cypriots are easy going and it is not likely that anyone will tell you off if you camp. Actually one night the police came to our campsite we insteed of telling us off they stayed with us and had a chat.
I don't know about the North |

Hi Nietskeoh and welcome to the forum :welcome:
There is an excellent campsite in North Cyprus called Dhavlos in greek or Kaplica in Turkish and one i would suggest you do not miss as it is a very beautiful location. |
