Sorry I think everybody, including the mods, are being very unfair.

Just read a good few dozens posts calling him names etc.

Now just becuase most people disagree with what he is saying does not mean people against him dotn have to follow the rules.

As somebody once said.

I may not agree with what your saying, but I will fight to the death to protect your right to say it

Sort it out people. Lets not turn into Cyprus Forum 8)

As far as I'm concerned if someone personally attacks DLS they will receive a warning from me. I'm not around often, usually just for a few minutes each day, but should I see anyone insulting anyone else it will be addressed. I too don't always agree with DLS but he has an equal right to state his views and also has a right to respect from the other members of this forum.

As for your intervention, this would probably have been far better handled through a PM to the moderators where your concerns could be addressed. This seems a very unnecessary way to go about doing this... if you can provide me with evidence of your concerns, then when I'm around again I will take action.

Thanks

Agreed but DLS is his own worst enemy and has attacked many members to date with unnecessary and vulgar language hence his being banned twice up to now and currently has 2 warnings against his name again.

Sorry CTD but the mods are fair and the members are expected to participate according to its rules and polite ettiquete goes a long way imo.

Please dont see this as a dig at anybody in particular.

It just seems that people are quicker to put eachother down, rather than have a debate.

Dhav's a politically correct sell out.

ok re, if that makes you happy.

And actually i never wrote it, i just 'created it' ...so you can shove what you just said up where the sun dont shine. Id rather be a sell out than a mavrokibreo like you.

why did this go totally unchallenged?
I know DLS started i but it not the point

Come on Crash, have you ever tried to have a conversation with him? I have and it starts and ends with abuse. I have even tried to change the subject to that of music and he just answered me in one word sentences. That was the only time though that he did not accuse me of spreading propaganda so I suppose that was something. He is an angry man but a strange sort of angry. A bit like Alf Garnet I suppose

FYI Dummy, Dhav actually received a warning from me for this remark, a warning which he has accepted and acknowledged. I hope this demonstrates that noone is immune from censure on this forum if they cross the line, not even one of the Mod/Admins. If a warning is warranted, it will be issued. Thus, I hope this will be an end to this discussion.

is it healthy for mods to argue in front of members, maybe you should do it in a section of the site that is authorized only for mods and admin, like what i do with my own forum. you should always endeavour to present a unified front, otherwise it demonstrates weakness and exposes internal problems that certain members may use to get one mod against another-the old divide and rule tactic, alas...we cypriots know it very well.

@Bullika: we do have such a section.

@CTD: if you think something deserves a warning, please use the blue card option. That's why this feature has been implemented.

Like I said before. I was not out to cause trouble just highlight my views.

@Zan - All the cool kids have warnings (city is too cool for them BTW)

I dont care if a person is a complete ass they still have the same rights as us lot.

@City - I dont want to go about grassing people up but I just wondered why most of the mods were in that thread and said nothing.

Arguing? I'd be interested to see where you spotted that... Dhav and I have never argued either publicly or privately, so quite where you perceived that God only knows. On this issue we do have a united front... if someone oversteps the mark they get a warning, no matter whether they are a fellow moderator or not. Quite how pointing out that is the case constitutes an argument I don't know. Rather it demonstrates strength of purpose and a common aim, to prevent needless squabbling and promote grown-up behaviour. Sweeping things like that under a rug only highlight potential weakness in those moderating a forum.

i wont retract my comment unless DlS retracts his, that offended me, but if that means getting a warning, then so be it.

for me now, the situation is finished/closed, and im finished talking about it.

i crossed teh line, so i should accept the consequences of my actions, liek an adult.
