|
|
Saturday afternoon and I was speeding towards Kerynia. I was late and Erol was waiting for a long time for my excellency. I did see the signs warning of cameras and did try to make a faint effort to slow down at the appropriate places.
Last Friday, I tried to cross at Ayios Dometios for my weekly pilgimage to Bizim Ahir. Kemal cooked "poulli" for us and "makarounia".
The policewoman looked at me rather kindly when she checked my insurance policy. There is a "prostimo" she told me, to be paid. What for, I asked, I am a law abiding person. The computer, she told me, says that your car was caught speeding in Kyrenia Avenue. You must pay the fine!
I was duly directed to another kiosk next door where a policeman pulled out a couple of blocks and started filling them in. He was from Lourougina (a krypto christian!) and he spoke Cypriot Greek better than me. He told me the fine was 30 quid. I was really shocked with amazement. I said to him I knew Ferdi and Talat but he would not back an inch. The Mayor is a friend of mine, I told him (this is how we do business in the south) but this still did not work. I paid the fine and hurried to my car, as the fellow passengers were getting restless.
Mike, a new recruit to Bizim Ahir, soon started teasing me. "You got photoed by a pseudo camera and you had to pay a pseudo fine to a pseudo policeman with real, hard earn Cypriot pounds" he kept repeating. On arrival at Bizim Ahir we soon forgot the incidence. Thanks to the real food and raki of Kemal! |

No Bananiot, you have made a mistake! You got caught by a real Camera and you had to pay a real fine to a real policeman!" Pseudo was you and the Cypriot pounds you have paid it with, like pseudo was your ethnic cleansing from your pseudo country. In reality, the state in the north is a real and a legitimate one, established after the area has been liberated by its indigenous population -the mainland Turks; and after pseudo you, together with all the rest of the pseudo Greek Cypriots, has been legally deported from there in 1974 for being an illegal immigrant and trespasser that had also usurped the properties of the mainland Turks, British, Israelis and the rest of its indigenous inhabitants, and after you have kept pseudo claiming that pseudo Gypsou was your pseudo ancestor’s and pseudo parent's pseudo village and pseudo properties!

And me with you …as it unfortunately seems there is no way out of the "downswing" you have acquired!

I hope that after you have named and revealed your connections and friends in the north, and after revealing the fact that when you were caught by traffic police in the south during the Papapetrou and Themistocleous reign as ministers of Clerides government, you used to get away by just mentioning your connections to them; you did mind at all and did not want me to ask for your permission before revealing the name of your pseudo village in the north.
Do not worry, I will never reveal your surname and address in Strovolos! |

| On Friday I am going to ask Kemal to feed me free for 4 weeks so that I can compensate for the fine. There is no way he will deny my request and similarly, he can feed Kifeas for the rest of his life for similar reasons. Next on the menu will be a hare. |

Bananiot, you may tell your “cheerleading majorettes” that you do not yet need their moral boosting dances, and that you are not in any real danger! |

I have to say that i really am pleased that when people are caught speeding at least in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus you DO really have to pay the fine and it has slowed people down and accidents now on the Lefkosa to Kyrenia road are significantly much less frequent.
Sorry Bananiot but be sure that your money will go to the treasury to help pay a civil servants salary in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus wether it is psuedo or not. |

Bananiot you can tell the weight lifting, gun totting and paranoid war monger that he is not in danger either. |
