| We had more opportunities, after 1974, but the late Kyprianou rejected all offers, for the sake of a "long struggle" which basically allowed the Turkish side to opt for an independed state which till today remains unrecognised, bar Turkey, but which is fast moving towards being the Tawain of the Mediterranean basin. |

I'm sorry...But I have yet to hear a dumber, more ignorant statement than the one highlighted above. If you really believe that Cypriot Greeks today, have this plan to do "harm" to any Cypriot Turk, you are sadly mistaken. If that is the case why do you come to this forum? To preach your pro-Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus statements? |

Try running your own police force first - that is the one who should protect the citizens... |

We have one thank you very much and they do a great job of protecting us in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, plus of course 40.000 Turkish Soldiers who presence enough to scare the shit out of many people and stop them from doing anything stupid and we know who those people are, don't we? |

VP
I know you have been provoked a lot lately and I have been guilty of doing it my self but this is getting a bit too jingoistic. You used to argue your point very well but now are just ranting like a few people we know. I urge you to get back to putting your point across as you did before and leave this sort of attack to others. We can celebrate our cause without resorting to waving our bums in peoples faces. Yours is a point of view just like mine and I think you have let people get to you. |

Interesting with regards to the topic:
http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/11/14/opinion/edhughes.php
Quote: Turkey complains vociferously about the European Union's unfair treatment of the politically and economically isolated Turkish Cypriots. Why then shouldn't Turkey grant a big chunk of its own citizens - the Kurds - the same rights it demands for people who are not even Turkish nationals?
...
While Turkey expects international support for its Cyprus solution, based on a bizonal, bicommunal federation with political equality between the two communities, it argues the precise opposite for its own Kurdish citizens.
...
And yet while some hardline Turkish nationalists may want an independent Northern Cyprus, and some radical Kurds may dream of an independent Kurdistan, the fact is that neither Turkey's southeast, nor Northern Cyprus has a realistic future as independent state.

I hear you zan but my opinion has hardened over the past few weeks because of people like Piratis and Kifeas who are clones of their ugly leader, its just not worth it, people like them can rot in the south for all i care, as long as people like them exist there will be no hope for any form of solution and the innocents will suffer in silence. They show no flexibility in the arguments and confirm time and time again that we are better off as we are and the dangers involved when contemplating reunification, let them go complain to hell whoever they want. Maybe they can negotiate a solution with them for what good it will do them.
So you to should reconsider where your recent more mellow approach has gotten you over the past few weeks on both forums, imo nowhere. They need to understand that we are not stupid and will not take the crap they throw at us time and time again without any minimum amount or change. They are hell bent on reducing us down to just another minority or starting a war which they do not realize they will lose and lose badly.
Thank god for the Turkish army and long live the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, with the Greek Cypriot attitude we read even on this forum I would hate to think where we would be without them. |

That is what I was thinking but...
VP offered everyone to go and join the celebrations.
I ask those who don't join the celebrations to go and join the protests. |
