F1 in Cyprus what do you think?
We have plenty of Booze and plenty of gorgeous women and fantastic hotels ect what else do we need?

I mean Monaco have one and they are a Pebble in the Sea!
At least with Cyprus we are a bigger Pebble I think? Say a Rock!
cheers!

We can't build proper roads ;) .. forget about it.

Besides, the Cyprus rally is being pulled out of the top level from the coming year. Honestly, we can't finance such a big project.

I say yes, but that's only because I'm an F1 fan.

When I watched Hungary in Cyprus they did a special on the Cyprus rally and the possiblilty of a Monaco style grand prix near limassol.

It's been pulled for the 2007 season, but reinstated in 2008. The rally teams regard Cyprus as a difficult event for two reasons, one because it's so tough on the cars and two because it doesn't have a native market for them to promote their cars.

moose is more well informed that I apparently :)

yes, it is happening in Limassol.. its called Limassol Down Town ( or something like that ).

honestly instead of spending so much money on building a F1 track ( which we don't have ) I would spend that and more on improving the existing roads, instituting city planning ( absent from Cyprus ) and educating the average Cypriot on safe and consciencous driving.. we are top in the EU in road accidents and death counts per capita.

In Australia we have the INDY 500 in Surfers Paradise Queensland and it is a ripper!

After the F1 we should have the America Cup in Ocean Racing!
OR Maybe:
Windsurfing Championships:
OR the;
Sandcastles Championships
OR last BUT not least!
NUDE BEACH VOLLEY BALL Competition where women from ALL over the world compete for a bottle of Champagne and a manicure!
What do ya think?
cheers
