Have a look at Deniz Kizi and the Acapulco Club Resort. Deniz Kizi is west of Girne and it has a very nice beach. There are two buildings - the Deniz Kizi (which is quite an old building) and the Deniz Kizi Royal - which is a newer building and a lot more modern. You can find out more at:
http://www.denizkizi.com/

Acapulco is east of Girne and has two types of accommodation - bungalows and the hotel. The hotel section is very nice, the bungalows on the other hand are pot luck - we booked one once and within 15 minutes we were back in reception asking to be moved! Still, the hotel suite was large and very well decorated. Their website is:

Xenos 2Fan,

I suggest Merit Crystal Cove or Jasmine Court, both are nice hotels only 10 mins away from Kyrenia.

Are you going to Cyprus this summer?

The same thing happened when we flew 2 days after 9/11 - all hand luggage had to go into clear plastic bags and only travel documents and medication were permitted so it's best to take some bags with you to save time. The roads around Stansted were meant to be solid this morning... nervous times again..

exactly. Thats whats the case now. All flights from and to Heathrow had been cancelled today untill a minute ago.

Investigations showed that terrorists were planning to go on transatlantic flights with liquid explosives in their hand luggage (obviously each with a single ingredient of the explosive) and blow up 10 planes simultaneously. :-(

Good for you! Unfortunately, I won't be in Cyprus this summer but if I were there, I'd be glad to show you around. Hopefully next time.

How long are you staying in Cyprus?

Thank you for the kind offer Mete. It would have nice to get to meet you too. Hopefully next year. I'm thinking about staying a week to explore your island and hopefully get a better understanding of the issues first hand and of course to soak up the legendary Cyprus sun. 8) I'm taking lots of pictures and I will publish them once I return to the States.

hi,

just wanted to add my mates own a holiday village with self catering places in Lapta (about 30 minutes from Girne). The area is quiet but beautiful, really peaceful with a good restaurant, pool and they also offer reasonable car hire.

visit http://www.cyprus-rose.com they do all you need!

 :D
