|
|
We need a brief text desription for the various areas and sections of the forum.
Dhavlos has suggested the following for some of them (thanks dhavlos) but I though I would see if others had any input to offer
PS I am not sure how many charaters can go into these descriptions but I suspect the ones suggested by dhavlos may be too long for some of them
"Welcome members to the Cyprus Problem Discussion section of the forum. Before you begin to debate and discuss the posted topics, please take the time to read and understand the purpose of this section, in the few points written below:
The Cyprus Problem Discussion section of the forum serves a number of purposes.
The first is to discuss issues relating to the current proposals to the Cyprus problem, notably the Annan Plan.
The second is to discuss ways of improving this plan or to discuss other solutions that people feel would solve the Cyprus issue.
The third purpose is to discuss other issues relating to the Cyprus Problem including developments in negotitations or bilateral actions, etc... relating to the Cyprus Problem
The last, and possibly the most important purpose, is to eventually be able to create a solution based on the discussions of the members and to hold our own 'referendum/poll' on its viabiltiy as a workable solution to the Cyprus Problem. Hopefully the solution can then be forwarded to the relevent people/politicains etc... and we could see, in the best possible scenario, the created solution as a basis for negotiations or put to referendum for the people of cyprus." |

cool erolz,
i think stuff in the unmoderated areas are quite self-explanitory, maybe just the stuff in moderated areas need descriptions.
Cyprus and the EU - "issues relating to Cyprus and the EU in terms of what the effects of joining where, new implimentation of laws, what the effect of turkish memebership means, and other issues to do with cypriot membership of the EU."
Cyprus Politics - "isssues relating to internal politics in cyprus, excluding those about the cyprus problem, which have their own forum."
Cyprus Problem Resources - "suggested reading, TV, media etc... connected to the cyprus problem, or helping people to understand the issues involved."
hope this kind of thing helps |

It's great - thanks.
I'll give it a few days and see if others have any ideas or input and then we can plug in the descriptions. |

This is my approach on the matter.

| I'd go for James' descriptions... to the point, with a smidgen of humour thrown in to boot. (I'm sure non-native english speakers are totally confused by that...) :D |
