Quote: UEFA Cup draw takes Trabzonspor back to Cyprus
By Lakis Avraamides
NICOSIA, July 28 (Reuters) - Police and security forces in Cyprus will be on full alert after Trabzonspor of Turkey were drawn to play a Cypriot team in European competition for the second successive season on Friday.
Trabzonspor will face APOEL Nicosia in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup next month a year after playing and surprisingly losing 3-2 on aggregate to Anorthosis in the Champions League second qualifying round .
i still can remember the discussions last year in the CF.
sooner or later this thread will end up, discussing the cyppro.
............
remember that last year our Turkish Cypriot brothers were dissapointed from the presence of greek flags in that game. as trabzonspor is playing with apoel (a team traditionally with right wing funs), raise your hand up, if you believe that this time we will not repeat the same thing. :? |

| Hey, I know this sounds kinda crazy, but the Greek flags aren't used because people want 'enosis', (trust me the idea is dead!! Has been for a long, long time!!) or because it's some sort of hidden message that the Turkish Cypriots aren't wanted.....although I completely understand why people would think this is why it is used..... |

Its like banging your head against a brick wall. They only claim most of the Greek Cypriot community want Enosis so they have an excuse to keep their state on stolen land. |

RE , are you completely out of your mind ?
what do you mean "make the mistake" ?
why is it a mistake ?
they are citizens of the Republic of Cyprus and they can enjoy any game they want.
besides , despite ourselves stupidly waving greek flags last year , the police was extremely carefull, in avoiding, having any kind of violence.
and what are you going to do if they make such a mistake ah ? |

Come on HammerSkin, that's just out of order!!!!!At the last match, apart from some idiots who were chanting some not so nice comments, (although my cousin went and she never heard anything, she told me how both the communities were applauding each other! :)), everything fine, there was no violence from either side!! |

Trabzonspor should think themselves lucky.............they could have been paired against Omonia!
At least against Apoel they have a slim chance of getting through!!!
