Are the Turkish Cypriot happy to be living under occupation and are they happy that the illegal settlers will outnumber them in a few years time?

If not happy what is been done about it?

Why shouldn't we happy?, we wake up and the sun is shining, we go to the beach and eat drink and be merry. We bring up our children up in peace. We do all the things you do so why shouldn't we happy??? Does this make you feel uncomfortable?


We do not have any major problems with the army or settlers, I think you should be more worried about the settlers than us, who will you find to negotiate anything with in 20 years times?? and who will you live with if you find that Utopian solution you seek??


Are you happy in the "Republic of Cyprus"? if not what are you doing about it? Do you encounter any problems with 2.5 million tourists each year, can you feel comfortable with your young family in Ayia Napa after 10pm? are you OK with the mafia in Limasol and the increasing crime in the south? are you OK with the drugs problem amongst your youth? all is not what it seems :wink:

yeh, but the north isnt much better either.....i mean, you live with some of the worlds hardened drug-barons, who live in the north because they wont be extradited.

I think you did not get the point. Boomerangs asking if you are happy was meant if your expectations as a community and or individual human beings are met.
If your expectation as a community and as an individual is to see the sun rising every day then I agree you are happy.
if not then you should explain your "no".

I agree its what you expect from life, if its waking up each morning in peace and tranquility, with no rat race, you can eat drink and be merry, bring up your children in safe environment, socialize with good friends, live in a beautiful country then yes personally I am and I believe from family and friends that the majority of Turkish Cypriots are happy.

I feel I have responded to your question in full so if you first attempt to understand my response's, and then if you are still not clear then try asking questions so that I may clarify.

To be fair mate, I've never had any problems with Turkiyelis (Mainland Turks), they get on with their lives and I get on with my mine.

I did nearly get into trouble once for asking a Turkish boy, a neighbour of my nenes (grandmothers), why he was worshipping Allah, "last time I heard he was worshipping me!" I cant believe he didnt see the funny side of it.

But to answer your question with all seriousness, I reckon we are happier than most unrecognised states, Transdnistr is pretty gloomy, Abkhazians are poorer than us and Nagorno-Karabag (the unrecognised armenian republic of) still suffers from sporadic gunfire and is littered with landmines and consequently one legged children.

Unlike them we have better weather, beaches of white sand, sea through water, enough souvlaki to sink a ship and the odd trickle of EU aid, oh...and we are recognized by atleast one country.

We are very happy to be living in North Cyprus.

Its a great feeling to have our people around us.

Sure there is problems like drugs, corruption, etc..but the again doesn't every country have these issues?

The negatives come with the positives.
