Quote: A website apparently created to ridicule a teenager by showing his photograph alongside pornographic images is being investigated by police.

...

The site alleges the young man from Barnet, north London, sold a broken laptop computer on eBay.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said it was reported to them on Monday and the case is being investigated by Barnet police.

It shows pictures of his family and friends and pornography the buyer of the laptop claims to have found on the hard drive.

There are also pictures of the teenager with a bare chest, sporting a drawn-on moustache and devil's horns, kissing a girl.

The BBC is not giving the URL, but a few searches tracked it down:

http://www.amirtofangsazan.blogspot.com/

It is so well done - the buyer clearly knows their stuff - that it is worth restating that the buyer put the blog up to pass it off as the seller's blog!

Three thoughts:

1. dban is your friend.

2. I wonder who, in the end, will be in more trouble? Clearly, the buyer can be got at by the usual ISP blanket terms on posting information which is "licentious, lewd or offensive", but I imagine the British Transport Police would be interested in finding out, from the seller, the whys and wherefores of the "photographs of womens' legs" ...

3. Where is Bullika? ;)

hm, well, yeah, funny, but the blog isn't that good. The writer alters between pretending to be Amir and being himself. Some logical errors included, also some of the 'porn' pics are simply taken from other websites as can clearly be seen from the copyright signs....

The guy is also under investigation by the police for ripping another ebay customer off for an Ipod that he took money for and never sent.

At least the police are investigating!

About 3 years ago, someone I know paid £600 via eBay for a laptop computer which didn't turn up. The police refused (!!) to investigate.

(This was in Camberley. Hardly a rustic part of the country ... quite the opposite, in fact).
