The trailers are out for this film about the United Airlines flight on September 11th... let's hope it does the people who died on that plane justice...

Highly unlikely. Is nothing inviolate? Does a dramatisation have to be made of everything to make the indirect direct?

I must say the testimony in the Moussaoui case, in the past few days, was far more gripping than any film; for once, the quirks of the US (federal) court procedure have led to general advantage. (Such "evidence" would never get near the courtroom in either English or Scots law).

Watch a debate on this film on Sky Movies. Apparently its not very accurate. However will be worth watching.

@brix. I think that in USA you can use evidence such as phone tapping and general dodgey stuff. If stuff like this was used in the UK then a lot more people would go behind bars

That goes in the "plausible but research shows otherwise" category.

Despite what the Daily Mail would have you believe, juries in this country take a dim view of entrapment and other indirect ways of gathering evidence; the conviction rates are unexpectedly low in trials which use those methods.

(Another surprise is that actual sentences passed are more severe than those research participants come up with given the same evidence; I would not recommend ending up in front of a lay magistrate as they are particularly tough!)

Haven't seen the movie yet, but must say that I expect it to be one of these very patriotic thingis the US likes to to. Certainly the passengers on that plane were very brave (if reports what happened are true) but I can imagine how the movie will look like.
Saw a documentary the other day which stated that the victims relatives had all agreed to the movie being made and also to the views it states...... :?

If it will make a buck or two, America will make a movie of it.

I think he is. There are some american's complaining that it's too soon. Personally I think it would be fitting to not have any films made about the subject.

Agreed as all it will do is encourage more islamphobia and making life a living hell for all the decent muslims.

As you can probably detect that is my opinion too, although there are some strange precedents (films about WWII being made during WWII).

I read a report somewhere that, in Brooklyn, a preview audience shouted "too soon!" and tore down the screen ...

I heard the same thing but I did not want to cite it as I wasn't sure about the incident.

I differentially obtained it for study purposes (hurrah for Bittorrent) and, although I still believe it should not have been produced, was actually rather impressed. Not that I would have torn down the screen - the PowerBook is a bit expensive for that ;)

The big danger would have been to have the plane go down wrapped in the Star-Spangled Banner ... but that was avoided, as were cardboard cutouts of the characters involved. Even the terrorists were portrayed with insight.

Certainly a stroke of genius was to recruit the director from a "neutral" country with a history of terrorism (the Republic of Ireland)!
