Apparently this is hip-hop in Kypriaka... my Greek isn't good enough to get any of it, but I like the laika music in the background... :D

Ya I saw some Nicosia guys a couple of years ago and they were tearing it up! About 6 different groups too, and in full on Cypriot! Rock and Roll!

Off to see Skinnyman tonight! Yay!

Skinnyman is UK hip hop. He's ok...a bit mad.....i aint a great fan of uk hip hop anyway. I think hip hop on the whole has gone quite stale.

Got much time for Kanye and Common tho.

A bit too up their arse. I think Kanye is one of the world's best producers but mediocre in his rhymes. Otherwise cool.

Stale? dload a few of the tunes on the Cypriot website...haha getting hair standing on end! HCH with the army tune... It's like Public Enemy all over again! Already been told to turn it down!

Personally I like UK hip hop....FAR from stale. Caught Roots Manuva last year. What a show! Support from MIA to boot!

A Cypriot Public Enemy!? That should be leading that group.

I know what you mean about Kanye West but I think people look at hip hop too technically these days. Fuck it...he's brought the comedy and everyday lifestyle issues back into rap music and he's also brought a new subculture with his Ralf Lauren preppy look...yeah it might look geeky but its something new and fresh as opposed to fake gangsta rappers. Thats why I agree his little 'Hip Hop Is Back' slogan, because rappers like him and Common represent real hip hop. I cant stand shit like 50 Cent, G Unit, The Game and all those boring crunk rappers.

OK...yeah I like Roots Manuva and think its a shame he didnt cross over to the States because he IS original and could have colaborated well with rappers over there....when I see the crap on Channel U though...it makes me get nautious.

I first grew up listening to UK rappers like London Posse, Cookie Crew, Silent Eclipse etc lol.

I haven't heard of half of these people... I'll stick to my Arctic Monkeys I think... (yes Dummy, I've listened to their album and I'm a convert... I like people who sing in their own accents rather than American clones)

Gotta say, I got a lot of respect for whats goin on in the UK Rock scene at the moment. Whilst RnB and rap is going stale, UK Rock music is really catching my attention with not being affraid to be original and experimenting.
