This is a weekly series where Sir Alan Sugar has 14 people doing a task every week in a view that one of them will get a job as his apprentice with a 6 figure sum and the rest.
I am well addicted to this program, anyone else into it.
Check it out

I love it, Alan Sugar is such a c*nt to the people.
Don't you find you want certain ones to go out?
Had a feeling the curly haired woman would go out this week as she has been in the last 3 on 4 occasions.
I don't like the flash git with a posh accent from Bangladesh, there is a guy who should put the mirror down every now and again, boy is he full of himself. |

That is 'sayid' who is possible full of more bullsh*t than anything else and i hope Sir Alan kicks his arse out sooner than later.
The curly haired women who got fired this week was 'joe' and i found her to be very erratic and lost all composure when put under pressure, so glad she went but the begging bit at the end was just way out of line and summoned up what a weak person she was. |

| Yeah i watch it every week. They are all nearly hopeless this year, really all of them. My tip is for Ruth to win, the tough girl with a chin like a man. |

We had a similar series here in Germany. I am absolutely not into such kind of things.
In my book TV entertainment is something else.... |

| This show originated in the US with real estate tycoon Donald Trump. He too is an ***hole to the candidates. I prefer the national geographic channel. |

| Jo is a friend of a friend and is as much of a nutter in real life as she is on tv... unfortunately she's also put back the reputation of my profession by about 20 years... no wonder Rover went under with HR Managers like her... |

I want him out next... one because he's a jumped-up malaka, and two because what he was doing on the last programme was trying to play the 'race card' to secure the sale. This doesn't belong in business and the fact that he also tried to exploit them by lying and saying the car would be worth more in two years time (I think it was an Astra, so that's patently untrue) was a disgrace. I hope next week we hear the words... SYED, you're a w**ker, and YOU'RE FIRED!

I think "any resemblance to business is purely coincidental"!
Either that or the IT industry is unusual; if what is seen on The Apprentice is normal - and not tricked up for the cameras - Heaven help us all :( |

| Alastair, I'm pretty sure the IT industry IS different in many cases. I can't really explain it, but imo in general its much more open minded when it comes to things like prejudices, dress codes, nationality, peoples physical appearance, sexuality (homo/hetero) etc...... |

I was thinking about this today and, based on experience with clients all over the place, I think you're right. It is!
(The project I am working on is about 1/3 ethnic minorities; my no.2 - and what a no.2 - is a British Asian [of Pakistani descent] and, I must say, I have learned more about Islam, and life in general, from him than from 10,000 "commentators" and other scribblers!) |
