I wasn't sure where else to post this, so this will do. I have to admit to being extremely impressed by the response of the PIO of the Ministry of Interior for their speedy response to an email I sent them. I emailed them about 10 days ago, asking if they still published the Almanac of Cyprus, which used to contain lots of useful info. Since then I've heard nothing and assumed that my email had been put in the 'not worth bothering' pile, particularly since it's summer and everyone's at the beach...
To my great surprise I checked my university mailbox today and lo-and-behold there was a nice fat envelope from the ministry containing said item, which is now called 'About Cyprus' and is no longer published annually - this one is from late 2004. So a big euxaristo poli to them... 10 days is a pretty incredible response considering it was sent surface mail also
The only mistake they made was addressing it to Dr. 'Moose'... |

I didn't claim to be, I just sent it from my uni address and the person must have assumed I was a Dr.
On a separate note, anyone know of a good carpenter in the Leicester/Nottingham area...? fed up with being let down by tradesman... been waiting for one all day, called them up to see where the hell he was and they've told me they're not quoting for any work right now because they're too busy... could've fricking told me in the first place... third time I've been let down trying to get a simple bleedin' cupboard made...   |

That's just the thing, I didn't, I sent it from my uni email which doesn't list my name as "Dr." |

Oh, forgot to mention that the book comes with a separate booklet about the Government of Cyprus. Inside this booklet are quite a few bio-cards for people to treasure, giving the biographies of Ministers and other important folk...
He's one of them... how bored does Theodorou look... :D
