The New Cyprus Association, The Cyprus Research Centre for the Eastern Mediterranean, The Movement for the Reunification of Cyprus and the `Odigitis` Bookstore have organized a joint cultural activity where the book of the journalist/writer Sevgül Uludağ in Greek `Ta Stridya bu ehasan to margaritari tus` (Oysters with the missing pearls) will be presented.
The book in Greek, will be presented by the journalist Andreas Paraschos on Tuesday, the 7th of February 2006 at 19.00 at the Hall for cultural events of the Limassol Cooperative Savings Bank (Synergatiko Tamieftyrioa Lemesou) in Galdstone Street, Limassol. Sevgül Uludağ will sign her books for her Greek speaking readers during the event. The book focuses on personal stories/evidence of Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots in connection with the missing persons, mass graves and other facts The book also has other articles containing portraits of different peace activists from both sides of the `Green Line`, as well as memories of a past Cyprus of the 50s and 60s..
Meanwhile the second edition of the Turkish version of the book has just come out. The book in Turkish `Oysters with the missing pearls` first came out in September 2005 and became a `best-seller` and in a period of two months was sold out completely. The book's second edition in Turkish has just come out...
