But I'm sure this won't happen for the obvious reasons.
From one who 'tests' members for their emotional reactions, like some kind of macabre laboratory experiment, I think your accusation is like the pot calling the kettle black. I don't personally attack members, in fact, this is the first instance I've had to admonish someone for what I think is paranoid and childish behaviour. If you're unable to defend the position that you hold on your own, then you should stay away from discussing it, especially if you can only respond with sarcasm. It's also gross hypocrisy to accuse me of attacking members (actually, you should have put that in the singular context, because I was actually referring to you directly), when you have lambasted other people as Trojan Horse's, referred to Turks in general (and specific members in the same breath) as masters of distortion... need I go on?
All in all, my post was intended to deal with your elevated view of yourself and your disdain for people who disagree with you. All in all, you appear to be someone who wants to dominate this forum with your views and is unprepared to accept that the argument doesn't always go his way. Then you go and childishly call for people to be kicked out because they have a pop at you and your views. That's real kindergarten-level stuff. I hope you're suitably ashamed of behaving in such a petty way. |

Given that it's a pathetic and self-indulgent challenge, I decline. I have no interest in petty squabbles with someone I will never, and have no interest in ever meeting, particularly when we should be discussing the Cyprus problem. I prefer to spend my time concentrating on ideas of substance rather than vacuous nonsense such as a 'challenge' from someone unable to stand up for his own opinions in an adult manner.
Given that I won't descend to your challenge, no doubt your response will be to make another 'grand' statement that you intend to leave this 'Anglo-Turk dominated' forum... it will be the measure of you if you do. |

OK, we can proceed with the vote, with Kifeas, Respiridus, and Xenos2Fan as candidates. However, given the fact that Cannedmoose seems to be emotionally involved with the subject, I suggest that his moderator status be temporarily suspended while the voting takes place.
I am going away now, and when I return tomorrow, I will start the poll thread. If someone has any objections, could you please voice it via the PM system. |

OK I finally have mains power back
Respiridus you do NOT run this forum. You have the same rights as any other member - no more and no less.
There will be no poll pitting one forum member against another. If you create one it will be removed - not quarantined but removed. Please DO NOT create such a poll.
It is with reluctance that I am forced to consider why you are particiapting in this forum. The phenomenom of indivduals 'trolling' forums such as these is a well documented one.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_troll
Quote: The main motive for a user trolling is to disrupt the community in some way. Inflammatory, sarcastic, disruptive or humorous content is posted, meant to draw other users into engaging the troll in a fruitless confrontation. The greater the reaction from the community the more likely the user is to troll again, as the person develops beliefs that certain actions achieve his/her goal to cause chaos. This gives rise to the often repeated protocol in Internet culture: "Do not feed the trolls".
Often, a person will post a sincere message about which he is emotionally sensitive. Skillful trolls know that an easy way to upset him is to disingenuously claim that he is a "troll". On other occasions, a person may not instantly understand, or fit into the social norms of a forum where most users have similar characteristics. As a result, his acting just slightly out of the norm (often unintentionally, and for legitimate reasons) garners him the label "troll". It can sometimes be difficult to distinguish between a user who is merely unfamiliar with the social protocols of a forum, and a user who is intentionally trolling; unfortunately, many users react aggressively on a first impression to a perceived troll, which sometimes leads disgruntled newbies to become trolls.
I do not know if you are a troll whose objective is to purposely disrupt the forum community or if you are 'merely unfamiliar with the social protocols of a forum'. What I do know is that you are causing a disproprtionate amount of disruption on this forum vs any other given user.
Whilst it is and always has been my intention to run the forum in as open and lightly 'ruled' manner as is possible - I will also do what I consider necessary to protect it and the community from people intent on causing disruption, rather than wishing to discuss issues.
All of this involves 'jufgment calls'. None of this is 'perfect'. As per the general philosophy of the forum as far as is possible these judgment calls will not be made by myself alone but by the mod/admin team and where possible by the membership in general.
For the moment I personaly am of the view that there is enough evidence from your own actions here to consider it a real possibility that you are in fact nothing more than a classic forum troll. Not beyond all possible doubt for me, but enough for me to personaly choose to follow the tired and tested meathod of dealing with trolls - name 'to not feed you'. For the time being I will not personally be responding to any of your posts - and I invite other members of the forum to do likewise. I do not like doing this - but I feel I have little other choice.
If it becomes clear over time that you were not a troll but just "unfamiliar with the social protocols of a forum" (and one of the most established of such protocals is to NOT post stuff sent to you in private in public areas) I may personally decide to interact with yourself again in these forums.
If you can not find a way to participate in the forums in future without creating such disproprtionate disruption relative to the many other forum users for other members and calls to 'not feed the troll' do not limit this disruption I will , in consultation with my fellow mods and admins and possible with the wider membership as well, take futher punative steps against you.
Finally I would ask other members to try their utmost to not add to this thread. I will not lock it however. |

Yes. Can I start a thread, asking "who do you want to be kicked out of the forum"? The names should be: Cannedmoose, Kifeas, Respiridus, and Xenos2Fan.
This is a bad idea at best and i will not allow the forum to be split like this, any thread that is opened to that extent will be closed by me.
i agree its a ridiculous idea. moose is a great contribution to our forum. can you both not work it out via pm? i dont want to get involved |
