Do whatever you want. ;-)
You are right that I COULD run this forum as a personal fifedom of my own. I could personally and arbitarily ban any member of the forum.
The fact is however I have chosen to NOT do this. The forum is NOT run as my personal fifedom. I try my best to run it as 'OUR' forum and not 'MY' forum.
No member has ever been or will be banned or sanctioned on my personal decision alone. Any decision I do make alone will be subject to review of the other mods and admins.
I have tried to involve the membership in all the decisions about how the forum is run and moderated. I will continue to try and do this in the future.
What I am asking you Respiridus is do you WANT me to say 'leave my forum' - for this is what it feels like you DO actually want. So I ask you plainly and simply if this is what you want? If it is the fact is that you wil be dispointed for it is not how I have run the forum in the past or how I intend to run it in the future. |

No, re. I'm not looking for excuses to leave the forum. If I ever decide to leave, I'll just do so without asking for anyone's "permission".
What I did was actually a little test of character. We've had a rather rough argument today in which I attempted to shatter some of your "Greeks are bad - Turks are good" beliefs. Having noticed that my arguments have made you a bit upset, I just decided to see how far your emotions would take you.
Sorry if I've caused you any trouble with that. |

And the results of your 'little test' are ?

If I had such beliefs they might be subject to shattering. As I do not, a pretty pointless exercise really.

So how far, in your opinion have my emotions taken me?

The whole approach of trying to 'goad' me into to behaving in a way I have said I would not do so re the running of the forum, to test my 'character' seems and feels to me a pretty arrogant, insulting rude and unessesary one - but that is just my personal opinion. Sorry if this opinion cause any trouble with you. |

Yes, you do. ;-)

Not very far. You're OK. :-)
I admit I can be a very difficult person to understand at times. |

Sorry if I speak out of turn here, but isn't this supposed to be a talk forum? It just appears to be a place for some people to sling abuse around and get themselves banned.
I only found the forum this afternoon, and hoped it would help my wife and I in our endeavours to move to Cyprus, so far all I have read in this thread is idiotic comments. |

As you'll soon learn bigade, if you don't know it already... in Cyprus there is a very thin line between discussions of seemingly inoffensive issues and discussions of highly contentious ones. In the case of this thread, it was a largely nonsensical argument. Occasionally we display flashes of brilliance, but mostly it's circular arguments. If you plan to live on the island, get used to it, constantly repeating arguments are the way of life. |

re Respi, Erol just asked you to post as a normal person and stop reminding people what they should do or not do...He did say that if you have a problem to PM a MOD and voice your concern...
The reason he asked you this is to minimize the bickering...He never suggested for you to leave the forum...How did you come to this conclusion?
Not everything has a double meaning Respi... |
