My experience at an Armenian Restaurant in Manchester. For legal reasons I cant tell you which one. :D

I ate at the Armenian Taverna, St Peters Square in manchester last week and had an unforgettably rotten experience.

I arrived at the restaurant at 4.45, but the owner this woman who looked like she had smiled since 1915 told me to come back at 5; the restaurant hadnt opened yet. Its kind of petty dont u think!

Anyway I wanted to rry Armenian so I went to starbucks for 15 minutes and drank a £3 cup of coffee and £2 biscuit.

Then we arrived (my friend and I) at the restaurant where the owners looked disapointed to see me, "Hi, I'm the asshole you asked to come back at 5" (Well i didnt really say this) what I actually said was "Hi, are you ready now?", She took us to a table near the toilet. They tossed the menu at us and left to serve some white trash. They seemed to like the whiote trash better than me even though I was well dressed and polite.

I'm a vegetarian so I ordered Fasoulya (beans) and bread with hoummos for starters. We still didnt get a smile out of the waitress. The starter took 20 mins to arrive, and it was small and stingy. The wine tasted like vinegar and the bread was as hard as rock cakes.

I then went to order Falafel (the full works) with salad. The waiter this time scribbled my order down and my friends, looked at us as we were small imperfectly formed bits of shit and then left without so much as confirming the order as is customary. I felt like calling after him. It must have been an aneurism or something! What a jerk!

This time my food took 40 minutes to arrive, it was only falafel for christs sake, it wasnt anything difficult or time consuming to make, I asked for food not a cure for cancer.

Finally when he put it on the table he didnt say anything, no apologies or nothing. With everybody else he was the perfect gentleman. You should have seen the way he was buttering up those working class english women from North Manchester. The guy would pour them more wine, bring them extra plates of food "Compliments of the restaurant madame..." he would say. This would elicit a whole round of rwactions, one by one the ladies would say "Did you hear that Barbara, dats so luvly, entit? tank u my luv!"

This food was awful. It has strigy bits in it and the centre of the falafel had not cooked like the outside. Falafels are not ,eant to be made too big as the centre doesnt cook-they need to be small. The salad was mostly lettuce and some of the tomatoes were soft and old and tasted off.

The waiter who serrved us this crap, was a real bottom-pincher with the ladies. We saw him bring different and better food for neighbouring tables of ladies who he would grin at. My friend said under his breath "What a creep!"

Then in the middle of our food he came over, caight my friend looking at a poster of Mount Ararat, (it was pure curiosity) and he said "Interesting view?" (he wasnt laughing) We looked at each other as he walked off. Osman caught my lips "What a wanker!"

He must have heard us speak Turkish earlier on. I was half ready to ask him in Turkish, "
N`apdik sana be gardash, oldurdum annani, oldurdum babani, n`apadik sana be?"

Translation: Mate! Have we done something to annoy you like kill your mother or father, whats the problem dude!"

But then I thought the guy would probably reply "Actually you did-I'm Armenian", so I didnt ask.

We payed WITHOUT leaving a tip, both walked out without saying goodbye or thank you and vowed never to return. Dont you just hate bad customer service!

Beginers rules for visiting restaurants

1- If you plan to complain before you have eaten its best to acknowledge that you will most probably get a few extra's in your food, like spit, unwashed salad, hands not washed after wiping one's behind.

2- If waiter is rude or uninterested, then leave as that restaurant is usually unbusy and its food will be days old rather than hours as the waiter knows next week could be his last week as business is on the ropes and does not care for the business anymore.

I'll tell you rest later, mrs brother is calling me to bed.

Are you telling bro that I could have eaten Armenian spit! That Armenian DNA made its way into my stomach and then entered by DNA and is currently going through my veins. :headbash:
