OK, we've discussed the flag and the anthem, what about the coat of arms?
Both sides use versions of the same arms, but the North uses one with a crescent and star and a different date, so this might (!) be less controversial than the flag and anthem.
People have suggested a moufflon or Aphrodite on the flag, but the coat of arms would be a better place for that. The President's flag could have the coat of arms. |

Nice, but is that the President's flag or the national flag? My proposed Presidential Flag would be white with the arms in the centre.

excuse me for my poor knowledge of english. the coat of arms, implies the symbol of the cypriot army ? :oops:
if thats so, i am not even sure that we are going to have a cypriot army.
@kmfw72, i like it that u designed your own avatar. i assume that your purpose was to have the new cypriot flag together with that of greece and turkey. if that was the case...thats not the turkish flag :wink: . if i assumed wrong.. i apologise. |

The coat of arms is the heraldic symbol of the state - it's what's on the front of your passport. The Greek one looks like this:
... and the Turkish one like this:

That is the 'Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus' flag, while the other is an inverted version of the Greek one - an idea of what a Greek Cypriot flag might look like, but that's just speculation on my part. |
