|
|
A very interesting article by Kariyannis which i thought was different to what we usually read on Cyprus. What d we all make of it?>
This is Kariyannis' view on the Annan plan
Quote: The Greek Cypriot bourgeoisie, being the stronger of the two on Cyprus, will attempt to exploit the new situation: (if Annan plan was implemented)
· It will attempt to limit the Turkish Cypriot bourgeoisie and exploit the new opportunities, especially tourism, that the Turkish Cypriot areas are offering
· It will attempt to exploit the cheap Turkish Cypriot labour, attacking at the same time the standard of living of the Greek Cypriot workers.
Kariyannis says the aged Annan plan does not account of class issue nor does it encourage workers to unite for a socialist Cyprus.

its rather outdated now and tends to emphasize workers rights, as opposed to all the other rights. |

I find Marxism ineteresting, but in no way do I support it.
I mean you have to ask yourself why after hundreds of year, marxism has NOT actually been implemented anywhere. I mean Lenin (and Stalin-but everyone knows he was not a true Marxist!) didnt fully interpret what Marx wrote.
PS: Marx once said "Thank God I'm not a Marxist."
Ive read extracts from Wheen's biography on Marx in politics lessons and it really entertaining and interesting to read actually.
heh, still dont suport marxism though. |
