It seem that in IE based browsers, sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.

In firefox it seems to work consistently. I am trying to get to the bottom of this, but do not hold your breath.

Just so you know if you wish to view a google video and you get the 'google video is not available' message - this is what you do to make it viewable via a forum post )if you have firefox browser, or sometimes vieable if you have IE)

1. On the google video page where it gives the error message, on the right hand side, select "put on site"

2.This opens up a box with html code. From this html code you need to extact the relevant part. The relevant part starts after (and not including) data="
and continues to (and including) playermode=embedded

So from a 'put on site' html code of

Quote: <object style="width:400px; height:300px;" id="VideoPlayback" align="middle" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?videoUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fvp.video.google.com%2Fvideodownload%3Fversion%3D0%26secureurl%3DiQAAAITiwfoDd-E9g6Mogdxmo25QVJ_1AeOx_Jf1RmOqs27vGTUxbWA2elK5cAPgG0S1Lz2G5BPTIg2Q9f5etfEDOhrIQNWy9nSInCgKb3LIVzTZflHa1kTXIeq3ZcWxvNBPJlKi8ah5XBQ_e2i2jh8dK_eGgyZY0gt9RRu59dpPBwV18hCzPOEOEBnnmGETwMDRnw%26begin%3D0%26len%3D196800&thumbnailUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fvideo.google.com%2FThumbnailServer%3Fcontentid%3Dd95add9247e2e63e%26second%3D5%26itag%3Dw320%26urlcreated%3D1136956934%26sigh%3DoGdLUCnrYwCcAdwO-QiREjLy6bA&playerId=-4446981554735098778&playerMode=embedded"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="movie" value="http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?videoUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fvp.video.google.com%2Fvideodownload%3Fversion%3D0%26secureurl%3DiQAAAITiwfoDd-E9g6Mogdxmo25QVJ_1AeOx_Jf1RmOqs27vGTUxbWA2elK5cAPgG0S1Lz2G5BPTIg2Q9f5etfEDOhrIQNWy9nSInCgKb3LIVzTZflHa1kTXIeq3ZcWxvNBPJlKi8ah5XBQ_e2i2jh8dK_eGgyZY0gt9RRu59dpPBwV18hCzPOEOEBnnmGETwMDRnw%26begin%3D0%26len%3D196800&thumbnailUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fvideo.google.com%2FThumbnailServer%3Fcontentid%3Dd95add9247e2e63e%26second%3D5%26itag%3Dw320%26urlcreated%3D1136956934%26sigh%3DoGdLUCnrYwCcAdwO-QiREjLy6bA&playerId=-4446981554735098778&playerMode=embedded"/> <param name="quality'" value="best" /> <param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" /> <param name="scale" value="noScale" /> <param name="wmode" value="window" /> <param name="salign" value="TL" /> </object>

you need to extract the following part

Quote: http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?videoUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fvp.video.google.com%2Fvideodownload%3Fversion%3D0%26secureurl%3DiQAAAITiwfoDd-E9g6Mogdxmo25QVJ_1AeOx_Jf1RmOqs27vGTUxbWA2elK5cAPgG0S1Lz2G5BPTIg2Q9f5etfEDOhrIQNWy9nSInCgKb3LIVzTZflHa1kTXIeq3ZcWxvNBPJlKi8ah5XBQ_e2i2jh8dK_eGgyZY0gt9RRu59dpPBwV18hCzPOEOEBnnmGETwMDRnw%26begin%3D0%26len%3D196800&thumbnailUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fvideo.google.com%2FThumbnailServer%3Fcontentid%3Dd95add9247e2e63e%26second%3D5%26itag%3Dw320%26urlcreated%3D1136956934%26sigh%3DoGdLUCnrYwCcAdwO-QiREjLy6bA&playerId=-4446981554735098778&playerMode=embedded

Once you have 'extracted' this section you can use the the '[flash width=400 height=300]<extracted part>[flash]' tags to embedd that video in a forum post and make it viewable even if you can not view it directly from google (and are using firefox or are using IE and are 'lucky').

:(

This is how it looks in firefox from here

http://www.visionmatters.co.uk/cyprus/screenshot.jpg

You just push play and it plays (after some buffering)

You do need to have flah/shockwave plugin installed in firefox. Otherwise it might be to do with some other setting in firefox ?

So much for me being 'clever' :(

City in firefox under tools / options / plugins

do you have an entry for

swf shockwave flash object ? Is it ticked as enabled ?

What happens when you right click on the image? Does is offer 'settings and about macromedia flash player 8' options ?

Hihi, Erol, it works fine now. Seems it was really unavailable earlier when I clicked the "play" button. :)

Apart from that my flashplayer is ok, but under tools/options I have no options for plugin-settings.
Never mind, it works. You _are_ clever Erol. :D Good job!
