Two new books are out. One by Pavlos Dinglis (Bitter truths) and another one by Kyriakos Tziampazis (Collapsed myths). I think both are worth reading.

Mustn't forget Sevgul's books (the oysters that lost their diamonds). All three are written by REAL Cypriots who place Cyprus above everything else.

the dinglis one yes.

the sevgul one (published in turkish since september) is about the pain of cyprus rather than politics . even though our pain comes from the political problem.

tha tziampazis sounds political but i dont have a clue

They are not soap operas Mehmet and cypezokyli has guessed right about the Tziampazis book which is written by Kyriakos from Afania, with a Greek forename and a Turkish-sounding surname. Actually, quite a few Turkish Cypriots from his village (including the Mukhtar) were present at the presentation of the book, two weeks ago. The main speaker was Niazi Kizilyurek who had a few good things to say about the book.

just got the book of sevgül.

sth interesting. she always wanted to write in a Greek Cypriots newspaper. she did for a while in vima, the newspaper of vasileiou. the reaction of the progressive people in the north was: should we start calling you maroulla? we should say kalimera to you and not gunaydin anymore. so you started wrting for a Greek Cypriot newspaper?
noone cared for what i wrote, everybody cared that i wrote in the south.

after vima was closed down she attempted cooperation with haravgi - akels newspapers , and phileleftheros - the goverments newspaper :) and she received a negative answer. is anyone surprised..? just wondering, bc i am not. she got a positive answer from alithia, one of the dysi newspapers...

progressive people in the north and the south...
