I have added a poll as instructed by Brother to see who is in favour of having a French section added to this forum for those of us who speak French to communicate and post information about Cyprus written in French. The section will deal with Cyprus, Greece and Turkey as well as the Francophonie (French speaking World). As we know Cyprus and France have a historical link too.
I realise this is a Cyprus forum, but the section will be for those of us who speak French and who find info on Cyprus etc in French. |

No, it's a stupid idea. This is a Cyprus forum, not a languages forum. There are plenty of opportunities to discuss and learn languages elsewhere.
If you want information on Cyprus in French, do a search for 'Chypre' on Google... it's easy enough. |

| Sorry re Mehmet, but I think that this has been discussed before. I have nothing with french speaking people, of course, but having a section of this forum in a language we can't all understand, will arise suspicion imho. |

And what if by chance you get a Cypriot from Kuala Lumbur? Highly unlikely, re. |

i think its not a bad idea but its probably not necesary for now.
quoting mehmet again :p
"a cypriot from france or quebec who wants to participate and he / she cant understand english"
Hehe
that cute but the probablility of finding this cypriot in the near future is too small.
and anyway if someone is interested in this discussions they must know a bit about the situation i.e they have read some literature or watched some tv etc..so the prob speak either Turk or Gr or Eng..
..ou pas? |

Yes, and most of them speak English. In the meantime, most of the huge (>400000) Cypriot community in the UK don't speak French at all. |

How about my need to write in Greek? Or yours to write in Turkish, re? If we do this we'll fundamentally change the rules of this forum, imho. |
