Has anybody heard about the recent racially motivated slaying of a black boy in England? below is an article about it.

I fear these kind of attacks are becoming far too common nowadays. Europe is becoming more and more unsettled and politicians more openly racist.

In the UK these kind of attacks aren't frequent and I don't know of a single politician who would lend any support to this... only unelectable far right groups who occasionally get 1 or two local councillors, nothing more.

I know, but what with the recent developments in Europe, the lection of the late Pim Fortuyn in Holland, the fact that Jean-Marie LePen came second place in the French presidentil election for the first time, the far right freedom party in Austria, the rising of Vlaams Blok in Belgium, and far right parties in Denmark are somewhat alarming.

Racism is racism wether you verbally, physically attack or murder some one, all of it is unexceptable.

You would never be given that choice as a racist is unpredictable and dangerous as there motivation is hate and anger and there driving force is violence which can come in any shape or form at the spur of the moment.

the political cultures are different in britan to that of continental Europe.

The First past the post electoral system in the Uk mostly guarentees that a far right partywould not get into power.

Although there are rascist attacks i dont think it is any more than a few years ago...it may just be that it is more reported now, especially since 9/11...just how muslim terrorism is widely reported now, but wasnt before 9/11

I think that any event is now seen as racially motivated. There was a kid i knew who got into a fight with a greek kid and got beaten.

He said that greeks were bullying him because greeks were the majority in the school.

Its hard to see when something is racially motivated these days.
