I'm having a big birthday party for my little girl next week and I wondered if you guys have any good ideas for easy but tasty party foods for the kids and there parents.
I've already thought of making Kormo (chocolate and digestive cake), trofes (chocolate balls with hundreds and thousands) sausage rolls, olive cake, roast beef sandwiches, souffle and of course the birthday cake but I need some more ideas. |

Marina, do you have a back yard?
One of the best things you can do in a party situation, is just to prepare many dozens of souvlakia sticks, and fire up your foukou. Then, put somebody there, constantly cooking souvlakia and offering them to any guest that passes by.
Mmmmmm... Classic Cyprus summer party! ;-) |

| Sorry to go off on a tangent but every summer my cousins village go round the local area collecting cash and people foukou. They then proceed to fill an entire field with bbq. You can smell it from miles away :D :D :D |

If my kids birthdays were in the summer I would do the bbq thing and get a nice big bouncy castle for them to play on but as its winter and the weather can be a bit dodgy so I decided to do it at one of those "play places" which have slides and hundreds of balls for kids to fall into and climbing frames etc etc.
I will take a load of food there and the parents with eat while the kids wear themselves out!!
Jelly's a must but the ice cream might be a bit difficult to take :-(
Jaffa cakes are good idea too.
Thanks guys.................more suggestions are still welcome though. ;-) |
