|
|
Here are some interesting (funny) facts about two of the most controversial Greek-Cypriot ultra-nationalists. Enjoy :D
Christodoulos Nicolaedis
Occupation: lamp salesman. More specifically, he is working behind the counter of a Nicosia shop that sells street lights to local government agencies, such as municipalities, the EAC, etc. Behind this benign facade, however, lies an extremely dangerous person. Christodoulos did his national service in the OYK corps, the Greek-Cypriot equivalent to the US Navy Seals. Later, he became a member of EAO, the Cyprus Police elite anti-terrorism branch, where he served for some time before being kicked out of service for reasons unspecified. One should conclude that he is trained in things like unorthodox warfare, hand-to-hand combat and sabotage. Very dangerous
Marios Matsakis
Mr. Matsakis' former girlfriend is a woman from Pallouriotissa, Nicosia called Zakelin Grivas, who is none other than the granddaughter of General George Grivas, founder of EOKA. They have a son, Christos Grivas Matsakis. Poor child...
Note to moderators: I'm just posting this info for the sake of reference and - well - fun. It should not be considered personal in nature, as it has been published before in the press. If, however, you think that it constitutes abuse, please feel free to delete this thread. |

Perhaps she has a non-Greek mother or father, I just don't know.
As far as I can tell, the name is accurate: Her story was featured in the magazine "To Periodiko" some years ago and this is where I got it. |

Just thinking, how hypocritical would it be if Grivas, supposedly a nationalist, was to marry a 'foreigner'.
He would hate himself surely ;)
Thats what i dont get...the church, nationalists, politicains, they all preach to us their ideology/moral code, but completely live their own lives, far away from these ideas.
J-M lePen is no better, supposedly a french nationalist(Le Front National), but his wife has 'non-french' ancestry. |

Ah, but Bro'... Le Pen's explanation would be that she is still a white European... you must remember that these fascist types like to extend the rules to suit themselves. From my understanding the Front Nationale aren't so much anti-immigrant, as anti-'non-European' (into which they also lump the recent wave of East European immigrants bizarrely enough...)
As for this Greek Cypriot nationalist lamp-salesman, remind me to stay away from his shop... no doubt he wouldn't appreciate Mrs. Moose having married a xenos |

I know his boss... He is actually a good guy and doesn't approve the beliefs and actions of his employee at all. In fact, he has threatened to fire him if he chooses to continue beating up people. |

Speaking of funny facts about ultra-nationalists...
...There is a story circulating about Mr. Denktash having been an inmate at the Athalassa asylum for the mentally ill during this youth. Does anyone know if this is true? Or is it just a piece of untruthful propaganda? |

If a person like that worked for me I would personally kick his ass into next week then fire him for good measure. |

Not unless he dissapeard for several years. Mr Denktash went to the English School, where he then went straight away to study law in England, and then returned to CYprus. His life can be traced easily through then, and if any of the above is true, he would not have been the crown prosecutor. It is rubbish. |

Come on, there must be something we can pin on Rauf Denktash!?
How about the rumor that he has a Greek Cypriot grandmother? This has been circulating in respectable Greek Cypriot media for some time now. |
