Yet another example of politicians telling people to do one thing and doing the exact opposite themselves. I don't begrudge them cars at all, after all, they need transportation to do their jobs. However, what sort of example does it set to have vast machines that burn fuel like no tomorrow. Surely the government could have set an example and either gone for hybrid cars or for gas-powered. The words 'gravy train' and 'riding' spring immediately to mind.
How, in particular, can the minister for environment possibly keep a straight face driving around in a car that has high CO2 emissions and does 28mpg to the gallon at best... |

| When the Talat goverment came to power the first thing they done was sell all those big petrol guzzlers and start using more modest transport and i believe that Turkey has also done the same thing. |

Just to show you that it's not pie-in-the-sky to suggest that Ministers of State travel around in hybrid vehicles... I'm not suggesting for example that Iacovou travel around in this for example...
If they waited for another year, they could order some of these instead.

I'd have a Lexus over a BM-troubleyou anyday. |

In all fairness I think people in Cyprus should vote for more Green parties and we wouldn't be having this argument today.
In other European countries, green parties have a substantial part of the seats in parliament and would never allow such measures to pass! Although Cyprus has a Green party, we have the social reposibility TO VOTE FOR THEM!!! Enough with this AKEL, DIKO, DYSI, EDEK cobblers!!!
The only party in Cyprus which has a clear "mission" is the Green party. No other money-wasting, laywer-infested party is worth the vote anymore!! |

Lol, he did no such thing, although he promised to before the elections. Check out his car and his ministers car, they are exactly the same as before. As for Turkey, ofcourse it would never do any such thing, imagine a countrys minister going around with a mini, there are very few countries who would have reached the level to do such a thing. The car in a way represents the country. |
