Ombudswoman called in by family of soldier unable to look after his diabetic child
THE grandfather of a nine year-old diabetic boy has appealed to the Ombudswoman for help in securing the early release of the child’s father from the army as the family struggles to survive financially in his absence.
After months of battling unsuccessfully to prevent his enlistment, divorced single father Demetris Epaminondas, 34, a repatriated South African Cypriot from Limassol, was forced to enlist in June this year. The family came to Cyprus four years ago.
