Intresting. I dont really use wikipedia for that reason. I prefer to go to a real site and read. Then the argument arises; can you trust the internet?

I'm always suspicious of whatever I read anywhere. So, I'm not especially suspicious of wikipedia, just equally so.

Also rather hypocritical given that The Guardian has used Wikipaedia as a source of reference material in the past!

I often wonder why The Register takes so strongly against Wikipaedia - "it takes one to know one" comes to mind, as The Register is hardly a paragon of accuracy ...

Yeah I detect a bit of 'traditional media' envy / hatred of these new non central user created information resources myself. We are are supposed to 'consume' information provided by others, not 'create' it and share it ourselves (according to traditional media mindsets)
