There is kind some of this functionality for personal albums to some degree already.
If you goto personal albums section and then use the sort by latest pic sort descending (using the sort buttons at bottom of page, not the top ones that dont seem to work) then it will list the personal albums in order of which have most recent posts.
I'll have a look round tonight to see if we can add something better than this. |

On the topic. When you click on a Members gallery the images appear twice, once in a Simple view and in one other. Is there a way to make the Simple view the only one that appears?

What this button actuay does is
normal view - only shows pictures from that sub category. it shows a section of 'recent pictures' and underneath shows all the pictures from that sub category
simple view - just shows all the users personal pictures, regardless of the sub category you are in and without any 'recent' pictures shown at the top. |

Because I live to make you happy crash I have added a new 'block' to the protal page. Its on the left under photo stats and is called "Recent Picture options". It has two options.
New Pictures - this should show any pictures that have added to the album since you lats logged in
New comments - this show any pcitures that have had comments added since you last logged in.
To be honest I have only done cursory checking but it appears to work.
One issue with it is with the approval process. I think at the moment it will show new and unappoved pictures. I can stop it doing this but the problem then becomes, user adds new picture (unapproved). You come onto the site and this picture does not show (because its unapproved). you log off. I come on and approve it. You come back to the site and it still does not show as a new pic because it is not new since your last visit (only newly approved). So this is a weakness with the system and one thats tricky to fix. For the moment then I will leave it as is (shows new but not approved pics) until I can find a fix for it, if I ever get round.

I have added a little more 'functionality' to this now
On the main index page, in the top right where it used to just have the options
View posts since last visit
View your posts
View unanswered posts
it now has two more options
New Photos Since Last Visit [x]
No New Comments Since Your Last Visit [x]
with x= the number of new photos or comments. |

Just to let you all know
I have removed the 'Recent Picture options' links from the portal page, as the links on the index page do the same thing in a better way (they show how many new pics and comments on pics there have been since your last visit). Sothe portal page links seem superfluous to me. If anyone really really misses them I can put them back. |
