| There is already a column on the far right showing how many pics there are in each personal album? At least on my screen there is? |

There is no easy way of adding it there.
There are some alternatives however that already exist.
If you arrange your personal albums into sub categories and then view your own personal album it lists these details for each category. Like mine here

Also from a user profile if you select the 'all pictures by user' you get a screen with a 'show all comments button' . Unfortunately that button does not work currently (the show all ratinbgs button does). I am trying to get this fixed and will report back if and when I do.
