The British Pathe news archive allows for the free downloading of their archives (for preview purposes) and has quite alot of content relating to Cyprus.

The site is a bit of a pain to use. To actually get a free clip you have to 'buy it' (put it into your basket) then check out your basket (with zero total cost) enter registration details (but not any credit card details) agreed to terms and conditions and finally you get to download your clip. I just downloaded and watched the second item on the list here

The Travelogue of Cyprus from 1965. It was 8MB and played for around 8 minutes. Pretty interesting imo, though in many ways it says more about Britain in 1965 that Cyprus.

Anyway I though I would flag up this resource. If people download other archive files about cyprus from here it might be an idea to list the title and a short review to help others that might be interested.

Have to admit laughing out loud when I watched this one... about 5 minutes in, it talks about people ringing bells to 'summon you to a gay affair', at the same time it showed a priest pulling on a long rope ringing a bell... and mentions of a gay parade 7 minutes in... led by Makarios no less

I love Pathe news... the music changes to suit the mood... those were the days...
