Bide/Pittes Recipe
1 kg flour
1 cube of yeast
water
a little sugar
Dissolve the yeast in half a cup of lukewarm water adding a teaspoon of sugar . Leave to make a froth , mix with flour and add as much lukewarm water as it will take to make a bread dough . Knead well until the dough comes off your hands easily , let it rise for about an hour .Form small balls , flatten these with a rolling pin and bake at 400F for 10-15 minutes . As soon as they rise , turn them over and bake , but leave them pale . Grill or heat on charcoal when making souvlakia . |
