Italian polilce brutality.
While the EU is very good at pushing democratic reforms in Turkey, it seems sad that it cannot regulate its own members?

| Italian police had once shot down a globalisation protestor in 2002. The guy was dead. And we all know Italy is one of the 6 founders of EU. |

| I was talking about such kind of double standards bg, but you claimed there are no double standards in the EU. Or were you just teasing me? |

The thing is that he does not appear to be "bad, and evil" hence he is benevolent.
Basically he's got a huge amount of power. He owns the main TV programmes, AC Milan, Housing businesses etc..and so these are basically his propaganda making machines. He's part of a right wing coalition, his party is called Forza Italia and one party in the coalition, La Lega, wants to separate north italy from south and have very tough laws on immigration.
Anyway, I read that during recent elections, he sent a cartoon "happy" booklet to every home which showed how good Berlusconi is in a less direct and obvious way. He has also been put on and off trial so many times that he's been trying to convince the people that the judicary is "corrupt" (because they have been putting him on trial and have been trialling things about the communists and fascists from back in the '70s <--not so sure on this part tho so dont quote me).
Anyway, this is just a generally overview of what power he has..even stronger than Murdoch. Oh yeah, he's also linked with the Sicilian Mafia....kinda says it all really. |

My sister is studying in Italy and she says it's a mess!! It's 1000 times worse than Cyprus apparently! Everyone is slack, laid-back and the police don't give a rats ass if you've just been killed, stabbed or mugged! Everyone from the Italian embassy in Cyprus to Silvio Berlusconi himself are slackers and time-wasting bureaucrats.
Did you know that an EU citizen has to go to 8 places in order to get the documentation to be able to study in Italy. You need four documents from different places and then you need to go to another four places to get those documents certified!!! |

In Greek, would it be argakratia?
I already conjured up a word for Cyprus' political structure that I'm using in my thesis... koumbarokratia |
