Let's just agree to disagree then. You are probably wrong and I'm probably wrong too.

I get defensive when people accuse me of something I don't believe I should be accused of.

You continualy brand me as a person who doesn't respect you or others, when this couldn't be further from the truth. If you want to brand me as something I'm not, go right ahead. My purpose here is not to make friends but to receive or share knowledge.

Fair enough re... I'm only branding you because that is how you were coming across to me... I'm sure that you're a thoroughly pleasant chap in real life.

As for not making friends, that's fair enough too. My primary purpose here is also to continue my quest to try and understand how Cypriots view their problem from their perspective and gain knowledge from others. However, civility costs nothing and friendliness costs even less.

Loipon... let's put personal differences aside.

Just to add my 2p's worth.

Andy just so you know I found the image you linked to deeply offensive, even as a joke. Violence against women is not a a joking matter in my opinion. The image linked to was orignaly used as part of a campaign in the UK against domestic violence as I recall. To use a modified version of such an image to make a joke that 'if you don't agree with me I will bitch slap you like this women has been' (or along those lines) was in extemely bad taste and deeply offensive in general imo. I was in the process of posting asking you to remove this when city did it for me.

You say your purpose here is

"My purpose here is not to make friends but to receive or share knowledge."

I can not help but wonder then why the 'joke' in the first place. Did it help you recieve or share any knowledge?

I understand your point about feeling ganged up on. It is unfortunately a very common feeling on forums that there are 'cliques' in them, for people naturaly over time grow to know and like and respect each other and support each other. However 2 people is hardly a gang.

These comments are just my personal opinions as an equal member of the forum. I am not ganging up on you but expressing my views on the image you linked to in your 'joke' and it's offensiveness in general terms.

If that was the picture... yes I would have been offended... as would any other person in their right mind...

However, rather than retaliating in kind, I would simply have put it down to the poster being an imbecile.

You are really pushing it now cannedmoose! As i said before, there are other ways of saying that you don't like my humor. A simple "That's not nice Andy, please remove it" will do... Don't forget that you are responding to a joke for christ sake not an insult. The way you have been acting (considering you haven't yet seen what I posted) reminds me an imbecile tbh!

OK enough people please.

Andy you posted in jest a image that was offensive and distasteful and when asked to remove it you did so and I thank you for that.

That should have been the end of it and if the 'jest' and image link had not contained a referance to Moose in it, it would have been the end of it no doubt.

Everything past this is down to confsuion , assumption, misunderstanding and people being upset as far as I am concerned. Let's draw a line under this move and move on. Please.

Thank you.
