Take the test at:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/how_euro_are_you/default.stm?43415d6f8b5911e053670003bac8b7ce
Plus, if you're in the UK tonight, or can access the BBC, there's a debate on BBC2 at 9pm tonight on this theme. Should be interesting.
According to the test I am a Euro-enthusiast. I guess that's what I'm closest to, but within limits, I'm not enthusiastic about the way that Europe is currently run, with huge subsidies paid to farmers, nor with the direction of the EU dictated by a select group of countries etc. |

He's called David Cameron re. To be honest, I don't know much about him as my interest in British politics and in the Tory party in particular is extremely limited. What I do know is that he's an architypical young, post-Thatcherite Tory. He says a lot about his youth and 'leading a new generation', but essentially he's the product of a public school, upper-middle class upbringing who probably doesn't really understand the conditions of many of his countrymen. I know this can be said of many politicians, but it just emphasises that Tories have been and continue to be out of touch with mainstream society.
My favourite of the candidates (if I liked any Tory) is David Davis. He's about as far from a 'typical Tory' as you can get - single parent upbringing, grew up in a council house, and went to a state school before higher education.
As for Cameron getting standing ovations, that's par for the course at party conferences, particularly the Tory conference where everyone is stabbing each other in the back, while at the same time pretending to be everyone's friend. |

i believe in a united states of europe as a means of peace in all europe including cyprus, as well as trade union/block to compete with usa china india etc.
i think uk and turkey in the same boat - no one really wants then in Eu. could be grounds for long overdue good relations between the two. |
