why let the EU have a place in a CYPRIOT flag?

or the curent cyprus flag with a green background and white olive branch

I repeat what I have said many times. I believe the current Republic of Cyprus flag is just perfect but unfortunately it's the Republic of Cyprus flag so I don't think it will be accepted as the new flag for a new Cyprus. Its a pity. But I actually must agree.

But then again, maybe it could be accepted due to the fact that it was designed by a Turkish Cypriot....

I would like the old flag to stay as it is, as if anything, it gives the country a sense of history, and that through all the troubles and hard times, they are still able to live side by side in one country(even if it took 30+years).

never mind, if we do want a new flag, what about the cyprus map, like the old one, and the olive leaves, one blue, one red, connected, positioned like the old flag, or intertwinned, to represent the communities working together?
