Those with an artistic nature will tell you that red and blue go together very nicely. Probably, navy blue is much better than the sky blue you suggested in your flag, moose.

But isn't that the "greek" blue? If you use another one it wouldn't stand for the greek heritage/culture.

I think we need to protect the heritage and culture of both communities as this will enrich our children hence the Greek blue is fine imo.

how about mixing both colours and using purple as the main colour of the flag (sounds gross I know) but realistically both sides have to let go of their colours and stand as one in order for this whole re-unification to work.

I know its not a colour that I'm particularly fond of but the concept is good, let me try to design a purple flag and revert later....

Brother dear the wait will be a long one... purple is just a really crap colour for a flag I did make a few attempts but refrained from saving them cause they were very similar to mooseys which no offence mate (were really hiddeous!!) Laughing

It seems that the blue red and white thing work better - but then do we really want the same colours as the USA and UK??

I dont' think that Greek Cypriot will accept "red" in the flag. I also think turkish red and greek blue should not be in the flag.

Maybe the solution is staring us (literally) in the face. Detailer's avatar incorporates the two respective community territories and highlights Cyprus' place in Europe... it's one option.
