Your birth was delicate and fraught with legend,
Your youth and freedom, and the beauty and love,
With which you lifted our hearts, and broadened our minds,
Had been forsaken by the shadows of deceit.

As the eerie silence of night raided the brightness of the day,
Neglected by your own fathers, you emerged starved, weak in pain.
The hole you left in our lives we replaced with the idol of prosperity,
But the pain never left, and we still yearn for you.

Please return, beauty of our lives, and stand up once more,
As the shining golden emerald of a blue expanse.
