Yet another monstrosity on Besparmak/Pentadaktylos range

What could be possibly worse than the T R N C flag facing south of Cyprus with the animated lightning in the night? If you think there could be nothing worse than that, then think again:

In the Ciklos region of Besparmak/Pentadaktylos range (this is where the Kyrenia appears first time under your feet when you are coming from the Lefkosa direction) a gigantic pair of T R N C and Turkey flags with dimensions of 18 x 12 meters (216 m2) each, will be erected on the 12th of November. There will be a ceremony at 10:30 hours. The monstrosity will be attached to a 50 meter high pole. It was an extra joy for the military and other flag-freaks, that the T R N C and Turkish flags will be visible from the Toros mountain range of southern Turkey!

Of course, there aren't many Turkish Cypriots who enjoy the idea, that's clear. Everybody knows who pays the bill and makes the organization. All we can do is to pray for a windy (preferably with lots of thunderstorms) winter in the region. Laughing

Otherwise, we are going to double our efforts in demonstrating what kind of a medieval society we are, satisfied by such nationalist extravaganza.

You know we have the best hospitals, best schools, best roads, best living standards in the area. All we need is two gigantic flags to celebrate our "achievements". What a shame.

yet another expression of phallic insecurity. Big, bigger, biggest. if some of the military type had enough red paint, they would paint the whole range (and if american's where smart, they would buy some real estate and put a Coca Cola sign)

PS Maybe my company should supply them with LED solar powered Lights?
BUT then again we might tell the to take that Crap off the mountain and plant a few trees and turn it into a park and Denktash and his corrupt mate NEED that Flag to SHOW the Republic of Cyprus that the North is there's OR to show the Turkish Cypriot that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus exists! Just in case any have doubts that they may be Europeans one day!

PS again! And you forgot one more the best uncorrupted government in the world!
AND that goes for both sides of Cyprus! At least the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Republic of Cyprus are on even par with that one!
