Has anyone read the stories in the press about the Republic of Cyprus requesting to join NATO?

Is the Cypriot mouse is chasing the Turkish cat?

Actually, I disagree. Cyprus would have alot to gain. It would bring Cyprus under the NATO security umbrella and it gives another reason for Turkey not to have such a massive number of troops on the island.

Another reason is that the British SBA's would become redundant as under the NATO umbrella, Cyprus can offer its territories for NATO use.

I think that if Cyprus has applied then it would be for the above reasons. Its puts pressure on Turkey and it also starts to bring into question the SBA areas, meaning it puts pressure on Britain as well.

The value of a veto is having it but never actually using it- like the Atomic bomb.

Maybe the US would see a benefit in having Cyprus in NATO and make Turkey put its veto back in its pocket.

We may have something to gain for NATO but now is too late.

When USA was asking from Makarios bustard to let them open a military base of NATO he did what he was always was doing. He said no because of his great malkopitouriasmenes divine ideas. This is one of the big mistakes we did back then and everyone with brains can realize it. We continuously spitting on NATO and we paid it but now there isn’t such a possibility with unsolved the Cyprob and USA or UN will not support us anymore we are all alone in the shit hole.

I believe if Cyprus joined NATO at that time Turkey wouldn't invade because US and Britain wouldn't have given them green light. So it might of been beneficial if we did so back then...

I think he said no because his vision on Cyprus was that Cyprus remained independent of any international alliances and institutions, and Cyprus at the time was one of only four countries (from memory) that adopted neutral policy. As NATO was an alliance interested to protect the benefits of its members against other countries (specifically USSR), Makarios avoided affiliation with NATO. Also the destruction of USSR was probably the 'hidden' purpose of NATO and as Makarios was in favour of socialism it was a logical choice to remain neutral on that.

Currently I cannot think of a way that Cyprus will benefit from joining NATO so I prefer that we stay out of it. Imo organisations like NATO are threats to world peace and justice and by not joining we will have better status in international humanitarian organisations.

Makarios didn’t have a healthy vision and he was trying to manipulate everyone to promote him self because of his divine thinking about his great self. This is a well known psychopathology for all the priests that they had authority at times.

He was an anticommunist and anti-American he only interest was him self and he didn’t hesitate to risk his people for his own benefit.

Something like that is happening today, our government has no vision and our divine thinking isn’t compatible with the normal thinking of a normal European.

The NATO purposes was no so hidden and also the USSR propose was no so hidden, Makarios didn’t give a shit for anyone neither NATO either USSR that was burning Christian Churches and was destroying the Christians authority.

Makarios was never a leftist, his only interest was to destroy the Turkish Cypriot community and make bigger his authority.

If someone want to have a clear view of Makarios mentality he can see now the Hesboallah in Lebanon, this is the talibanistic way of the religions.

NATO would be well served with Cyprus as a member. The failure with Makarios was intricately linked to the geo-political activity of the moment...but times have changed.

In essence, I believe that the way forward for us, is the supermilitarisation of the island. To demilitarise, we must become an island that serves the interests of many, so that the interest of one, Turkey, is not merely diluted, but satisfied, its secuity assured.

That is the point of my musings with a Treaty of Defense, between the two adversaries, the Republic of Cyprus and Turkey, without which their will be more costly and detrimental affects on both, and to Mankind in general.

Like the deer and the lion, they lay down together, when their bellies are full, or when there is fire. It is not hard to imagine that Turkey will find in Greece a people not unlike themselves. The will to better ourselves is universal, the world has become a very small place.

While some people speaking about NATO. The UN are planning to threaten Cyprus what if the Anan report about UNFICYP and the 10 years of Anan in the Cyprus issue doesn’t pass through the Security Council they will redraw the UNFICYP forces and leave us in the mercy of Turkey. This report will try to enforce Cyprus and TPap to start the negotiation on the BBF solution that he is keep using as an argument even if he don’t believe it. This is the end of the lies and dreams, this is the call of reality and if we are going to continue this game and continue to spiting in the international community efforts and try to manipulate them, they will show us their back and they will leave us in the Allah mercy.

This is the last episode; if we choose again to spit on UN they will show us how ridiculous we are.

While everyone worldwide pressing us to leave the bullshits and start a real process for solving the problem through UN and while Europeans in the 100% trying to pass the problem to UN where it belongs.

Our choices now are this:

1 Sit in negotiation and found a solution on BBF
2 Choose to make more problems to Turkey accession and finally make the process to collapse and help Turkey to unite with Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and pay the price of our actions with out even the UNFICYP to protect us.
3 Find a third way for continuing the Turkey accession and leave the solution of the problem for after 20-30 years

The international community giving us this choices and shows us very clearly what they are not willing to be TPap puppets.

The 2 scenario of course is a threat that unfortunately can be truth and not because the foreigners hate us but because we are pushing the situation to the limits and every action we made have a result and we must realize what we are not the center of world and no one is in dept on us to stay there as puppet to manipulate them, tell them lies and make them lessons or even threaten them.

We have overpassed all the limits of ridiculousness and we must wake up when we are still able to do it because is very possible to die in our sleep and no one give a shit for it.

The situation now drives us to the 3 scenario and only if TPap is a complete lunatic will chose the 2 but he did show signs of mental sickness and everything is possible.

Even if everything is going to be in the scenario 3 way and follow the EU proposes the UN threat (or action) will remains to continue pressing us for the scenario 1.

The best thing that can happen for our side is a more or less compromise solution like the Anan plan.

If we choose the third way witch is the easiest for our government image after their pathetic choices and we are not going to start the real negotiation for a real solution in short time we are going to negotiate after 20-30 years how deep the cucumber will be in our ass because there will be nothing to negotiate.

If they have some manliness left in their pants and if there is some balls and some dick they will understand what they had dig their grave by their choices their promises their lies their Talibanistic behavior and what they make ridiculous moves and they lost and what they must sit back and found a realistic solution in short time.

If they are unable to eat the idea what they lost and what they are just clowns with false authority and unreal ridiculous ideas and what they did mistakes that they have to pay then they are just transsexuals with no balls and they will choose the easy way to the 20-30 years for a solution in deep time where they will loose everything and where they will not have to apologize to the misinformed and brainwashed people that think what they are patriots and even capable politicians, in the reality they can’t find their dick in their dirty pissed shited underwear and our destruction seems very close.

Strategically, in a geographical sense, we are the center of the world. It is this that the Turkish military, and the state, realise.

It is why Cyprus should belong to no one, and therefore it should be free to be a country on its own.

This island's security is not sustainable, divided in two parts, and the likelihood of the UN's withdrawal increases over time.

Not joining NATO from the start was really retarded.

It would have made things much simpler. Total Independance for a tiny rock blows. This is why Cyprus is joining everything it can these days. For example Cyprus has become a member of the Francophone nations how hilarious! This was the only reason wwe joined Maybe we should join the Arab league and OPEC next LOL.
