Since there has been a large influx of Turks and Kurds into the UK what a change.
I am speaking purely for my stomach and my wallet now.
I am sorry to say that the Cypriot contingent has not only been giving us rubbish food but they have been ripping us off at the same time. I tended not to go to Cypriot restaurants over here because I have not liked the service or the prices. Now we have Turks and Kurds from Turkey that not only make you feel welcome ( not in that Greek Cypriot slimey way or that I think I am something because I have a restaurant Turkish Cypriot sort of way) but they give you fantastic food at a reasonable price. I ask you where else can you get a Lagmagun for a pound sterling filled with delicious salad and for another 60p you can get a proper iran, delicious and fresh. £1.60 for lunch.....AH! |

the same in berlin, in kreuzberg.
where the turk immigrants live, everything is cheaper... including the rents.
this is ofcource nice, so long one lives there and enjoys the low prices (like I did ).
on the other hand (it is sad to notice) that the locals are changing neighbourhoods, and are willing to pay the (financial) price for it. dont ask me the reason. i would like to know it too |

| The picture in Sweden, where my relatives live, is the same. Cheap but undesirable immigrant neighbourhoods rife with crime and vandalism. I think locals move out of there just because it is not very safe. I personally would not like to live there either. |

In the two areas that I am talking about Cyp the English moved out long ago when the Blacks moved in. Now though Islington and Hackney are fashionable and the English are doing all they can to move back. Believe me these are not cheep places to live or open up shop in but there are enough people to make a line of a dozen Kebab shops work and this is whats keeping the prices down. Good old fashioned competition. These guys are not found wanting for a penny though. They all have houses and drive nice cars, they just don't expect to become millionaires over night like the Cypriots. They work so hard and you will find the same people working in the day as you will in the night. Sorry to dis the Cypriots but all their restaurants are closing. They seem to have taken over the dry cleaning world now and I am doing all I can not to purchase any dry clean only cloths. |

Cypriots in London are too stupid to be millionaires.
If they stopped worrying about the BMW they drive and whether their 17 year old son is driving a new golf 3 days after writing off his first one, and began to think like the jews they would all be rich.
they pull each other down instead of pushing everybody forward |
