Tell me about it. He's against the whole modern history, that's why he's so angry all the time.

To a native American, celebrating Thanksgiving is similar how the Greek Cypriot's feel when Turkish Cypriot's celebrate the anniversary of the invasion.

It marks the anniversary of when the travellers settled on their land and began to oppress the native Indians.

It might look all nice in those Christmassy films and everything but its not very ethical to celebrate is it.

I wonder if DLS has ever been to a fireworks display or bonfire on Guy Fawkes' night? If he has, surely that would be against his ethical stance on these issues. To go would potentially be offensive to Catholics and celebrating an attempted terrorist outrage, not to go would be condoning terrorism and encouraging the overthrow of the state... what a dilemma... maybe he has to leave the country every year!

Anyway, he's demonstrated ignorance once again when it comes to the origins of Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving evolved from the Harvest Festival, which gives thanks to God for the things we have at the end of the harvest season. It has nothing to do with celebrating the arrival of settlers to North America, it was simply a continuation of a celebration they took from the old country. DLS's objection probably comes from the political correctness that has warped the issue, with native American groups linking Thanksgiving with persecution, rather than an understanding of what the holiday actually means.

The same story with Christmas and all the celebrations of the like Moose. All these Pagan rituals have made their way into modern religions.

What the hell is thanks giving?

An american friend invited me last Wednesday to her place for thanksgiving but I had other commitments so I didn't go.

The same girl invited me on Friday for a halloween party, even so as she told me halloween was a month earlier! Anyway the halloween party was good and there was a gay guy who wanted to go to a gay club after... so we did!!! I went before once to a gay bar (it was ok) but never at a club. It was disgusting, not because of gay people, I am not homophobic or anything but most men were slizzy, with no tops and there were private rooms for mass gay orgies and there was video playing gay porn.

The only possitive was that there were also some lesbian girls and some were really hot. I spoke with one girl and I told her that "I am gay and for her beauty I am willing to convert"... but it didn't work, she laughed and continued kissing her girlfriend.

I know totally out subject but I think it was an experience worth sharing!!!
