| Alexios, do you have an idea why about 15min prior to the final whistle there was an announcement in German, asking the German fans to stay for ten more minutes in their block once the match has finished? I could clearly hear the announcement on TV. |

| They do this in all football matches (well, in premiership ones anyway) ...its a way to make sure the fans dont mix and so that a fight doesnt break out between opposing fans. |

Yep,I second Dhavlos above...The supporters of the away team are always asked to wait for the rest to leave before they can.
I just loved Alexios' description of the events.
Good to see that creating total chaos out of a simple event is not only a Turkish or Turkish Cypriot trademark...It's got something to do with being a hotblooded Mediterranean I believe... Cypriots! you have to love them |

All day yesterday funs were complaining about what took place on various radio sport programs. We are still waiting for an official explanation from those responsible....
PS: I wish Bullica was at the stadium!! I never heard so many "BRIOS" outside and inside the pitch!!!! |

| Excellent report, Alexios, I am sure you were a journalist in a previous life. However, I did not go to the match but watched most of it with some nice food and friends at "Bragadino coffee bar" on a big screen. I seem to remember (despite the wine) quite vividly Okkas´s goal going in before the half time whistle. May be your ordeal in trying to secure tickets had a more profound effect on you. You should think about asking compensation, imo. |

Thank you Bananiot. I wish i was in this life.....
I tell you i was shaking with fury and i am usually a very calm person!! Fortunately we were compensated in some way through a good game...
It's just not the same on TV, big screen or not....I maintain that you learn more about human character on the football pitch, either playing or watching than almost anywhere else in life...To the careful observer, in just 90 minutes, the character or disposition of either player or fun suffices to it's glorious best or worse with magnificent clarity. You can sense as well as see who is a fighter, a loser, patient, inpatient, critical, forgiving, intelligent, stupid, steady, erratic, hard working, lazy, calm, anxious, etc etc etc....Some times when the game is not all that exciting, i find myself observing the people around me.It's much more interesting than studying a psychology book..... |

| Of course strange things happen in football some times....but realistically, the best we can hope for is a decent performance... Cyprus 0-2 Germany. I wonder how many T/C would want to watch the game if just 1 T/C player was included in the Cyprus team... |
Having 1 or 2 Turkish Cypriots players would not still make Turkish Cypriots feel it was their team, the "Republic of Cyprus" team represents the Greek Cypriots only not us, the Turkish Cypriots are watching the Turkey vs Italy match. |
No, it represents all the native inhabitants of Cyprus. And I stress the word native. |
