No reason to unleash your dog against a Turkish Cypriot? What exactly does constitute a "good reason"?

I spoke with an extremely level headed and calm hearted relation recently who flew to Larnaca with Cyprus Airways. As they approached Larnaca airport the pilot made an announcement informing passengers that it was not advisable to visit the occupied North or consider making any form of investment there and to bascially take ones life into ones own hands as EU Health and Safety regulations were not enforcable. How does my relation react? Well she didn't consider unleashing her dog...she was genuinly ashamed that visitors to our Island were subjected to political bullshit before even setting foot on Cypriot soil...

This may have been a one off incident with Cyprus Airways but it is not the point..the way one reacts to these forms of provocation is the real issue...

Use your imagination...Do you really want me to make a list of what is a "good reason"?
As for the rest, I will leave that to those that are more educated on the subject matter.

Well now the 23 year celebrations are over we can return to our normal daily routines, reading and seeing our politician's mess everything up, some things never change. Laughing

No list is necessary. The fact that you can reel one off is all that matters and I think answers your question and gives credence to the fear that you have your dogs leash in your hand and the dog has its teeth bared.

I think there is a danger here that when we stress our fears the Greek Cypriot forum members take it too personally. What I mean by that is that they can only see them selves as the aggressor mentioned and Knowing that they cannot possibly commit such atrocities, they then dismiss all claims that it is possible. Can we not put all that has been posted and discussed on this and other forums together and come up with a single thread that makes sense.

The violence in the past, even if it was started by an over zealous individual, could not have escalated in the way that it did if the political will was not of the same persuasion. If it were different then it would have been stopped in its tracks the same way any other illegal activity would have been. No! Our fears are not for the unruly mob, although these small skirmishes will occur IMO, it is the political and military ambitions that are the real threat. Just look back and see why the EOKA terrorists were left to develop the way they did. We are not just afraid of physical abuse either. There are a thousand different ways that the Turkish Cypriot can be discriminated against and the blanket of the EU is not comforting in any way shape or form.

Forgive me, I am hardly educated at all and completely lack any form of imagination whatsoever.

I would like to see your list please.

I'm sure you would but you are going to have to try really, really hard and try to use that imagination of yours. You guys can try and twist my words around, making me into your imaginary "bad guy" but it's just not going to happen. The point of the post was to say that there was no grudge against any Cypriot Turk. You apparently have enough of an imagination to think up of other things eh?
