| Obviously, as Turkish Cypriots (and some/many Greek Cypriots) were against enosis, they then became obsticals for the political acheivement of enosis(because of Republic of Cyprus arrangements of constitution), and if you look, before EOKAB it was only politically that Turkish Cypriots were taken out. Once EOKAB came about, it was then that the 'social' aspect of killing people (Turkish Cypriot or Greek Cypriot) happened. |
Well my uncle was 'taken out' from his place of work in 64 by a group of armed Greek Cypriot 'irregulars' and never seen again. The intercommunal violence and the disproportionate violence suffered by the Turkish Cypriot community from 63- the forming of EOKA B was intrinsicaly linked to the persuit of enosis and taksim by the two leaderships. For me it is just not accurate to say from 63- formation of eoka b violence was not used as a means of achieveing enosis by Greek Cypriot leadership (or taksim by Turkish Cypriot leadership for tha matter) and that such use of violence only happened after the formation of eoka B. The reality is that in the 50's EOKA used violence as ameans of achieving enosis (maybe for some it was to achieve the end of british rule but for Grivas the eoka leader clearly it was for enosis). In the 60's and befor the formation of eoka b violence was still being used - by the Greek Cypriot leadership and still as a means of gaining enosis and after the formation of eoka b it was also used. There is no clear cut division between 'peacefull' persuit of enosis pre formation of eoka b and violent persuit of it after. |
hmmm, well fair enough. But i still undecided. I jsut need to read more. |

| All I can say erolz is... my pain is your pain... there is no shame in that... we must choose to be individuals who can embrace a change which respect the values for which these people were sacrificed, against the intolerance which serves our subjugation and the unatural isolation that keeps us as adversaries. |

Obviously Turkish Cypriots do not see the Turkish forces as an invading army. In 1974, I welcomed them, like most Greek Cypriots who were also living under the terror that the extremists had prepared for each other.
I can tell you my story...it is just as horrible...fact is anyone old enough who is Cypriot, has a family that suffers. Get over it. Justice is determined by the action we choose to uphold. I choose to be inclusive and of goodwill toward all men, I am against the bitterness and intolerance, that is so easy, generalisations that shame, and coy judgement.
The Orams have a decision which states that the Republic of Cyprus retains sovereignty over the land. It may be unenforceable at the moment but we all wait for this day. By then the Orams will be dead (or too old to care)...somebody else will pay. |

Erol, please stop this nonsense lie! There absolutely no hotel in the south that was built on Turkish Cypriot land!

If I were in Cyprus, I'd get you this information because I'm pretty sure there are cases where Turkish Cypriot land is used for hotels, etc. Last summer, I've heard cases on TV where Turkish Cypriot land is used to build holiday villas for British buyers (just like in the north) and factories built on Turkish Cypriot land (this particular case factory was built in 1976!). |

As for factories, I do not know what you have in mind, or what a factory means to you. For some, a mere barrack made out of metal sheets and poles stuck into the ground, and used as carpentry, is regarded as a factory. If this is what you mean, then yes, there are such cases in which Turkish Cypriot land was used by Greek Cypriot refugees for this purpose. However, they never claimed that the land belongs to them, nor they ever attempted to sell their "factory" together with someone else’s land to anyone else. They never said that should the Republic of Cyprus tells them they should dismantle their "factory" and move it elsewhere because the land must be returned to its Turkish Cypriot owner, that they will refuse to do so. In this respect, they are also unable to use the land on which their installation is situated as a collateral to obtain a bank loan, because no bank in the south accepts such properties as a guarantee. |

I have played golf with a man for the last two years that has been fighting a very big hotel chain in court.
He unfortunately has passed away recently but his wife and son who are both doctors are carrying on the fight. This hotel has been on his land for thirty years and his family will receive millions just in rent alone.
We have heard about your intentions and reasons for posting here and on any other forum you post on in the little incident a while back involving a Greek Cypriot friend of ours. He went by the name of “Respiridus” whom you threatened with violence and even went to his place of work . You obviously are a fully paid up member of the EOKA movement and why anybody takes you seriously I have no idea.
Has anyone heard from Respi??????? |

HI Zan when will you put out a couple of more poems: They are brilliant:
Specially Upside Down:
You should concentrate on Children's Poems with illustration man: You will be great:
Now back to the HORAMS:
All this mess with properties was created by 2 people: Dentash and his co Hurst Clerides:
When they decided to move the people North & South and divide them:Clerides told Dentash all the Greek Cypriot properties in the North are your and all the Turkish Cypriot properties in the South are ours:
Some of Clerides friends became very rich with this because they new they will not return to the North ever again: BUT most of the poor people were not told this: They where told just sit and wait, wait, wait and ended up being beggars for over 30 years whilst others became filthy rich bastards:
In the North Dentash did the same with his mates: They became supper rich and IF any Turkish Cypriot complained he had the Turkish army on HIS side: OR became gave them a Greek Cypriot property to shut them up:
So many like my family got nothing in the South: Most went back to Australia with the close they where wearing:
IF the Greek Cypriot where told the same that their Land is gone: Most would of stayed in Cyprus and grabbed what ever they could BUT Clerides did a great job:
1: Many people left with nothing:
2: His mate grabs some land and became rich:
3: The millions the UN and others gave for the refugees they just spent it:
Also Zan many Turkish Cypriot have now sold properties in the South to developers:
BUT WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS THIS???????????
WHY weren't the Greek Cypriot told that there land is gone like the Turkish Cypriot where told?
WHY weren't the Greek Cypriot allowed to give their land to the government and get Turkish Cypriot land to develop and sell to foreigners like the Turkish Cypriot where?
WHY where the Greek Cypriot allowed to leave Cyprus and not given any compensation and now they are all over the world!
AND the biggest thing that pisses me off is that people who lived like KINGS in Kyrenia, develop and MORFOU had to beg the beggars of Pafos for somewhere to stay: And these Beggars of Pafois are now all millionaires and the true millionaires in the North are now the beggars:
Thanks Mr Denktash and MR Clerides you are true Cypriots HEROES!
OR should I say true Turkish and Greek manipulator's!
Crikey! |

GREEK CYPRIOT refugee Meletis Apostolides yesterday recorded a major victory in the Orams vs Apostolides court case, after the top judge in the UK announced the case would be referred to the Court of European Communities.
Yesterday’s decision, described by Apostolides’ lawyer as a “major triumph”, means that the previous ruling in favour of British couple Linda and David Orams would not stand.
According to Judge Lord Philips, the Lord Chief Justice, a number of legal points would be referred to the Court of European Communities for interpretation. The court was yesterday adjourned for the two sides to agree on the points to be referred. |
For the record... |
