Turkish Mousaka is normally made with mince meat and topped with Sliced Potatoes and the Greek version is made like a lasange with the mince at the bottom then the Aubergines and the top is like Cypriot Makaroni in the oven ( the Creamy One)
They are both quality |

It depends really, some Greeks use Aubergines, but some prefer potatoes, I know I do!!
Although a dish that, in my opinion, is slightly nicer than Mousaka, is "Makaronia tou fournou", it's some tasty food I tell ya! |

The one my mum has been making for years has sliced potatoes at the bottom, then aubergines, then the minced meat and on the top bechamel with a layer of cheese so that it browns beautifully in the over, God I want some now!
PS thats the Cypriot version. |
