Saray certainly means Palace, but I have no idea what Galata means - i think it is some district in Istanbul.

'Gala' in Greek means milk...which im guessing is pretty much the same in Turkish.

The Greek state was set up to preserve Greek culture...unfortunatly due to historical events before the Greek state, you couldnt have one without the other.
